Really, how many times have you seen a varium player usually have most of his/her stats contributed to support? We all know the wonderful advantages of high support and how it's almost second to none when it comes to stat preference, but we also know that high amounts of support can lead to "stat abusement e.e", such as but not limited to, powerful critical damages, unusual amount of deflections, and one of the most used 2vs2 skill for mercenaries, artillery strike. How do we balance support out you may ask, well I have a proposal for everyone but I'd like for you to understand something about support first. Support IMO, should be treated as a supplemental stat not a pure damaging stat such as strength which is somewhat a predecessor of support or vice-versa. Now, my proposal to this well known problem would be to have auxiliary damage only increase by increments of 5, not 4.

Now don't freak out yet as I also propose to have auxiliary weapons increase by 1-2+ damage point and also there range of damage be 2-/2+. An example of this would be a mercenary with 70 support, and a auxiliary weapon of level 32 that deals 39 damage(Charfade's Bazooka) which the total auxiliary damage range would be 12-19 instead of it resulting in 14-17. Now your probably thinking what would be the point if the damage is exactly same in this scenario. I want you to think of a mercenary with 100 support this time but with my system this time. Instead of 25-30+37, you would have a mercenary with 18-23+37 auxiliary damage. You see that? Just after 30 points the mercenary has already lost 7 damage points. Now tell me what you think and I'll make existing changes based off of what you think.

~Edit due to the popular responses on how paragraphs are more important than discussing balance itself...(:

I thought we already have a similar one, so let's just use in one area instead: A Comprehensive Balance Discussion. Thanks. :) ~AVA

And make a few paragraphs out of it.
Reading a whole block of text, is very annoying. :3

I want feedback, I'm not suggesting it as it is now, some ramifications may be needed. Now please tell me what you think .

I think your lowering the damage by a little bit to the point where it won't make much of a difference after they use MAX AS which usually crits if there max support for around 70 damage.

EDIT:Also yes paragraphs would be nice, the font on these forums sucks.

I have to agree with the above above above? Too long of a paragraph, made me stop reading in 5 sec..
im a focus/support merc and usually when support vs a focus build the focus wins. more deflect and block chance than other builds. =D

@Crosser, No, as the title of the thread depicts, I'm only nerfing support auxiliary wise, and also I'm not even going to respond to those ridiculous statements about paragraphs. Sorry if I don't feel like talking about proper web etiquette with you :p.

EDIT: Really? You could spend about 30 minutes reading PD's long posts without paragraphs yet you can't handle 5 seconds with a small paragraph?

Like I said, the "nerf" wouldn't change anything in fact it would make every other classes support weaker besides merc.

^Please elaborate since this isn't even exclusively to one class. This is to nerf support not mercenaries.

This will nerf everyones Aux damage but it won't change the mercs combo and barely effect there damage. Support will still be useful for most of there skills. They will still have a 2-3hit combo, this mostly effects other classes that use support because Aux damage is one of the main reasons they use support while mercs have multiple reasons.

mabye a 4 5 4 5 increase in support but not all 5's because that makes support like a luck only skill.

@Crosser, what a shrewd statement. So may I ask how much support you have ?

Why would you want to nerf the Auxes on all classes? That doesnt make sence.

I'm not nerfing auxiliary for all players, I'm just nerfing auxiliary for support over 69 users.

To be honest I think 70 is too little a number to begin a nerf of the damage. How about... 80 perhaps? For some reason I just feel 70 is too low. I half agree with this because I think weakening an Auxs power gain after a certain ammount while help defend against extreme-support abusers ( which, ironially, I am one considering I use 96 support on my Mage build d= ).

@Nebula,I believe you're right but how about we do this without stat mods so players aren't penalised for "high support" using stat mods?

How about at 89 since my bounty has 88 support? But seriously, I don't like this because it sort of tears down support mages who are just rising with Azrael, even though I'm a bounty. I want some decent competition ^^
