Apocalypse, man's greatest fear. Nothing left. Death. Darkness. Oblivion. What's to happen? Is it coming? Yes, They are coming. They who bathe in darkness and mucnh on fear. They who are in control of man, as one who is afraid may be controlled by his fear. They are Fear. A raw form of it, actually. And what does man fear the most? Death. The end. They.

"What's that on the horizon?!" "It looks like a tidal-wave of darkness!" "Are those people up there?" Bemused expressions appeared upon They. "We," started a lanky They, "do NOT come in peace." A wave of panic spread through the crowd. "Who are they?" "What do they want?!" "Save my children!!!" They smiled cruely. A big, muscular They with a crown on it's head and a cape of skulls waled out of an unseen doorway. "Citizens of Earth!" Silence. The King They continued. "I am the ruler of the gloruis empire with no name, otherwise known as: They." A school teacher, not quite in grip of her senses, shouted out, "Oh yeah? Well that's HORRIBLE grammar!" The King They turned to face her. It snapped and she imploded. Remnants of her body slowly drifted upwards leaving a trail of darkness. The fragments reformed above the King They, forming a new They. The King dragged the new They to it's feet. "You obey me now." "I obey you now..."

A new degree of terror spread through the crowd. Several tried to flee, only to be forced back by approaching They. The King They snickered. "This...is the end for homosapiens."

"Channel 46 News, bringin you all the details on the terrible onslaught of darkness." A television screen flashed in an abandoned living room. The house was wrecked. All windows: broken. The door was off-hinges. A single boy walked into the house. His face was pudged with black smears. His appearance was muscular. This wasn't the old George Thorjill. George Throjill was a nerd, out-of-shape, and very unlikely to survive the They. But They drove him out of his shell, forcing a new George to emerge: brave, daring, and fit. His hair covered his eyes, as he hadn't had a haircut in weeks. Mostly everyone he knew had become They. His friends, family...even his teachers. George now carried a sub-machine gun wherever he went. A pair of daggers lined the inside of his back pocket. A silver-vextron plasma grenade, the last of it's kind, lay silently in his hand. If the King They was in here, he was ready. He explored the house, of course, to find nothing. All remaining houses lay in ruins like this now. The few humans George found were eager to join the Resistance, a band of rebels determined on defeating They, which George was also in. Geroge left the house and continues his journey of revenge.

A They lay silent in an alleyway, waiting for an unsuspecting human to walk by. Bad luck for him. George smelled it's purtid odor and prepared for battle. George withdrew his gun and ricochetted the bullet of of a metal lining on the wall opposite of the They. A screech, explosion, and hum verified it's death. George walked forward, ever silent, ever deadly.

The King They watched the world through the eyes of his soldiers, the They. He knew where the trouble was, and could quickly exterminate it if needed. Another planet would soon crumble at the very hands of the They. The King They felt a disturbance. He quickly tried to switch his thoughts to the vision of They-4012, but failed. A death? No, no! Not possible. He pinpointed the last location of his fallen soldier and quickly flew there. The King found sulfur and few remains. Who could have done this? He sensed a human nearby, moving. Male, young, and...armed. Great.

George spun around. That had to be him. The King They. He smelt him. He felt his presence, his power. It could be no other. George followed he scent and met an equally advancing and angry King They. "Hello, human," the King They snarled. It leapt in for a kill. George quickly drew a dagger and stabbed. "HISS!" Darkness seeped out of the wound. George pulled his gun out and fired. The King They dodged. It leapt into the air and pounced. Hit! "Any last words?" George thought a second. "A few." Stalling for the time he needed, George slowly reached for his grenade. "I think you are a worthless species, so make it quick." Geroge nodded. He was in grip of the grenade. "Yes, two." The King They stopped moment and saw the grenade. It's anger was replaced with new-found terror. "Die scum." Click. Beep. Boom.

Months later, after everything returned to normal and everyone returned to their human selves after the defeat of the King They, a memorial service was being held. "We have never seen a man as brave as George Thorjill. He sacrificed his own life, for his planet. For the sake... of humankind." The service was being broadcasted everywhere. Weeping friends and family surrounded the coffin. "We shall always remember Geroge Thorjill, the brave young man who sacrificed everything, for everything. God bless him."
