a fan forum section on the AEF would be nice, you know, a place where every fan-forum could have a topic,
this would benifit both the AEF and the fan-forums,

-AEF would get more members and posts, because the people from the fan forums would come here
-fan forums would get fresh members from the AEF
-people who don't agree with the AEF rules can go to a more lax fan forum
-Fan forums have their own staff, thus the work of the AEF staff is eased a bit
-...

Exquisitely pathological

I don't see how this suggestion actually changes anything: if someone wants disagrees with the rules, they're already free to create their own forum and establish their own set of rules.

A forum that consists of nothing but threads that link to other forums doesn't really hold much room for discussion. It'd be more like an archive of advertisements, and since advertising is disallowed by the forum rules, I don't think the staff would agree to the implementation of an entire forum dedicated to such content.

that's why i ask to make an exeption, i think some members don't know there are so many fan forums out there, and i think they deserve a chanse to know them as well

Though I'm sure AE staff loves the fact that there are people going through the work to make a Fan site/forum I don't think there's much point in having a list or something like that on the official forums. Players that sign up on this forums already say they agree with the rules on account creation. If people don't agree then they can Google community made sites, thing with that is the staff will not read those so most people would find it pointless (which I personally find very silly).

-AEF would get more members and posts, because the people from the fan forums would come here

Anyone that goes to a fan forum already knows the existence of the official one

-fan forums would get fresh members from the AEF

That only gets members out of the AE forums

-people who don't agree with the AEF rules can go to a more lax fan forum

People who don't agree with the AE forums rules should not be posting on the forums anyway. And to be honest if I ran a Fan site/forum I would not want those members coming to my site to throw in what they "can't" say here.

-Fan forums have their own staff, thus the work of the AEF staff is eased a bit

Wouldn't ease one little bit actually, people who sign up to fan forums would continue to come here and they would actually now crowd not one but two or more forums.

Fan sites and forums are fun but people will always prefer the real deal even with the "strict" rules as they know that here they will get the most reliable information.
