Why is everyone saying "str mercs are OP" when they get around 80%+ on LB
With npcs!
Its just a quick option for mercs with an active faction.
I personly rather focus as it gets 95%+ without npcs
So thats more OP in my opinion...
Is quick really OP?

STR Mercs are completely luck-based, and most competitive players will have no serious trouble with them.
However, I should point out that the majority of their kills come from luck or lower-levelled players, and they complain because they're not given a chance.

it isn't much the Strength mercenaries as much as the bounty hunters

str bhs = oped cuz of the recent aux and sidearm slots

yeh str bh is OP but so is defense matrix... no one should get +28 defense on a level 1-3 DM thats just silly.

With the new nerfs, Str mercs are no longer OPed

@smackie - my lvl one Def matrix gives +17 def.

lol the same as no one should have 75 damage with a 1 lvl massacre :O i believe that is sillier

No class is uped or oped , maybe you should change your build because if a merc/mage/hunter can win me than everybody can (im a str hunter)

Str merc and str BH's are all oped.
+5 focus BH and tech mercs. Are all oped.

To the non-variums.....

Enhancements ruined this balance.
Variums have upper advantage.
Non-variums have lower advantage.

But there's a positive change in creativity of builds now. Look, not everyone's a str hunter or a str BH anymore.

Wrong im a str merc and had 90% one day its not very hard since extra slots u can add more dex and tech thus fore staying alive longer and blocking

The build takes no skill
Luck can take place by a stun and high str will make it definitely harder

STR mercs scare me alot when they hit you they really hit you.

Actually, no build is truly OP.
You see there's counters to certain builds.

Example 1:
STR Merc vs 5 Focus Merc
Victor: STR Merc. Why? The 5-Focus relies on long battles and cannot take that quick loss.

Example 2:
STR Merc vs Dex BH
Victor: Dex BH. Why? Obviously the massive blocks if you didn't know.

But you can't have a build that defeats every build, that's why some say a certain build is OP and another saying it's not.

i agree with the second example but not the first. all the focus merc has to do is intmidate, when the merc debuffs atom smash, and then the str merc cant do enough dmg. also massive blocks focus mercs have 26-32 defences!

@above: In fact, my build has at least 30 in each defense.

But on occasion, I'm still ripped to shreds against STR Mercs x.x

Because they are. If your able to be killed in 2 turns without a first turn that is Oped. I am not saying their impossible to beat but they are tough.
