WHY did they remove the power from the AK and Mods to lock a topic?

Now a lot of forums posts are just spam and troll. Surely that cannot be good.

I have seen the reference already that they did remove it. They have change the boundaries.

I am not referring to have your own post locked by you request (although that was nice) and may be would save a little space on the servers. :0

I just do not understand why?

You're laboring under a misunderstanding here. The ability to lock topics was not taken away, nor are boards aside from the Q&A forums affected in any way. And in the Q&A board, posts will be handled according to the same set of rules; individual posts will simply be deleted rather than the thread locked. That policy change changes how posts are dealt with, not whether they are. So, if you've noticed any spam or trolling, do the same thing as always and report it to an AK of the board.
