Before the War Prior to the war, Baelius had been fascinated by the tech mages' ability to manipulate machines. He had desired for them to make him into a human fighting machine that would make him unstoppable in battle and also to make him seem like a more intimidating leader. Of course, prior to this being a possibility, experiments had to be conducted. Conducted on innocent people. These experiments could result in death or cause unknown side-effects. The tech mages who were aligned with Baelius used their knowledge of machines along with the manipulation of varium to attempt to make Baelius into a half-human and half-machine. It was mainly the organs that were enhanced along with a metal lining that was placed inside the body. Outside, you would look completely harmless although it would be quite the opposite on the inside. You had twice the brain-power, twice the strength and twice the magical capbilities of a normal human. These experiments went on for over two years until it was perfected and eventually Baelius became one. His mind had the secrets of the Bounty Hunters', Mercenaries' and Tech Mages' powers. The secret of Baelius' true power was only known by his loyal group of tech mages. He always had the upper-hand, he was ready for war. Nothing could stand in his way. People of various ages were taken from Delta I (the first planet invested by Baelius). The poorer families who lived there, and worked hard on the mines were promised 'the time of a lifetime with your ruler Baelius' and they were targetted by the Tech Mages. After the experiments were completed, they were killed. This was the beginning of Baelius' road to insanity. He was happy taking away the lives of others just for his pleasure. Back at Delta I, there was chaos due to the immense poverty and corruption there. Baelius had no intention of helping the citizens and workers struggling at Delta I, he wanted these experiments to be completed successfully. After two years, a civil war had corrupted in Delta I between the democrats and communists. Many of the poor people had been killed in the experiments and the rest were finished off by the war. Delta I was a hell-hole but Baelius had completed his experiments and he had commenced mass-producing varium on Delta V. T.600 was 14 years old when they took him. He was aptly named T.600 because he was the 6th experiment, and the first on a child. He was a revolutionary experiment that went wrong in every way. No one knew his real name, that had been lost and forgotten in time. He had no family. He was just spotted waiting outside the tech mages' spaceship. The tech mages saw it as an opportunity to conduct some tests on a child. They should of left him where he was. He was an innocent child with no home and no family. No one cared if he was taken away. He didn't say a thing and he didn't complain when they took. His face showed no sign of emotion. The tech mages intended to test the side-effects that would occur from a child. The previous experiment had caused the adult candidate to go insane and he turned aggressive. The enhancing aspect of it had been a success though, and that was evident from the amount of damage he caused in his fury. T.600 had been strapped securely to the bed where they would inject the secret drug and then inject the metal that was enhanced with varium through his body. This was the same concept that would succeed in two years, although it was forgotten for two years due to T.600's unexpected reaction. As the chemicals of the drug swum in T.600's body, and the metal engulfed itself through his bones, T.600 jumped around violently and he screamed in pain as the mages sat back and observed. They had added in an extra amount of varium with the metal this time to see its effect. The result wasn't great. The metal was spreading all over his skin; his chest had turned into a silver metal plate but his arms and legs survived any impact visually. Inside, his bones had turned into metal. T.600 was hardly human now. The top of his head, his chin and the sides of his face was asilver metal that glistened with blue from the varium. His chest and legs were completely metal, only his arms and the other parts of his face were uneffected for some reason. Once the experiment was complete, the tech mages sighed with relief and one of them walked up to T.600 to check if he was still alive. He was greeted by a punch as T.600 broke the solid straps with ease and he managed to cast a red ball of fire. This red ball targetted all three of the tech mages and it was enough to leave them stunned. "Thank you for your help fellow mages," said T.600 as he walked out of the spaceship with a basic staff that had a light blue gem at the top of the staff. He had grabbed it from one of the other tech mages as he left. This is the story Before the War, I can continue if you liked this.
