Well I finally managed to have my girlfriend try ED. Guess she got curious about what was so great about his little game and why I was spending so much time playing it.

As I was helping her and explaining everything, I was rediscovering the game. I realized it is quite overwhelming for a new player. Now I am having more fun just sitting next to her and helping her level up, shopping for new weapons and doing missions.

Below level 25, there is almost no varium and only 3 class. Competition is a bit more fair. There is a lot of stuff to do, npc to meet and fight, missions, worlds to discover, boss fights...

For a jaded level cap player like me, it was very refreshing.

Anything to add or any thoughs on that ?

Lolz IKR? O.o In a game it shows if you get a higher lvl you get more pressured xD

( Kinda like in real life situations O.o )

@drak. actualy, alot of pro players made and upgraded alts before the class changing feature was introduced (so they could try other classes, obviously)

yes, playing on lower level alts is much more fun. i made a mage alt, leveled it to 30, then quit because i couldn't stand the constant losing any more

It's quite unfair my girlfriend likes this game yet she doesn't wanna play. She just watches me instead.

Newbs definitely have more fun.
I might make more and more alts just to try actual 1v1 and 2v2 instead of just NPCing on my merc alt.

this will certainly be something to think about myself when the 3 new classes become something you can pick for a class for a beginning player ;)

haha my girl would die if she knew i played this, not that i would want he to play this. i would never hear the end of it from her or any of the others haha

lol and yes newbies do have more fun. however some still find it boring.

Once my accounts reach level 33, I then make a new account. But yeah, the lower levels were the most fun part of the game.

 I actually find the lower levels more fun, i'm playing on my level 17 TM and having a great time, although it's not geared out properly for his level, it's still fun to play sometimes :)

The main reason its boring in high Lvls is because there is 0 purpose of this game , a 33 lvl full varium player only can do high wins which gives nothing more than credits , Rating system = Useless , Faction system = Useless , Leader Boards = Only increase popularity also there is no purpose like lvl up because we already max lvl , i dont see how can we enjoy ?!

Most players play with low lvl character , they increase the character to 25 lvl than open new one and increase it , this is more fun and cheaper.

The reasons why high lvls boring :

  • Faction System is Useless ( this is the main reason i think after 33 lvl there is 1 option to get enjoy is faction wars and its completely useless)
  • No creative builds ( ppl get sick of seeing always same builds , Str - Support - 5 Focus , in low lvls game is avaible to more creativity)
  • 3/4 of the high lvl players has Varium , that makes game much unfair to Non Variums and Varium players spent too much money to be strong


The reasons why low lvls are more fun:

  • More creativity almost every time we see different build , its awesome thing and fun (except Mercs all of them max Hybrid and make this game boring for low lvls)
  • No Non Varium vs Varium difference
  • Lvl up makes this game has a purpose
  • More things to explore ( for new players)

Well still helping her with her character..

I find that the lower level weapons are very expensive. You pile up credit for gear and when you can afford them, they are outdated for your level.

Now i forgot about this problem because we full varium level cap players are litterally swimming in credits.. (for the most part anyway)


I think revisiting the pricing should be put on the to-do list.

@MrBones:Not really since after you tried piling up credits for gear for your lvl you lvl up but your just a few hundred creds away from your new lvl gear
Besides set dmg skills are usually what matter not weps

Yep, my alt TM was a lot more fun than my main. No OP-ness, BattleMage can pwn. But now he's LV26, entering the Danger Zone.

 newbies dont have to use the best gear all of the time either becuase my lv 17 merc who has a very nice record is using the Bio Blade(pre quest i went and bought it) and i actully enhanced it before i saw its level. Also my Merc is semi lucky in the arcade which is how i pulled off the enhancment at lv 17

Agreed with @Turkish. Since I've gotten to lvl 33, I haven't really been playing ED much. And I got kicked from a faction again, so there's defintely nothing to do.
