Soon* EpicDuel will be available in multiple languages, starting with Portuguese. It's a good thing we don't have as many quests as the other AE games, or that task would be monumental!

So what do you think about this? Useful or unnecessary?

I think it's unnecessary. They will have to hire something to do it, maybe make release time cooldown even longer and cost even more money -.-. I hope staff won't spend time on this

Well its good for people who dont understand english, and in the end there could be a profit as there will be people all over the world playing this game and spending varium. But i do agree that it will take LOTS of time.

There's a lot of Portuguese players in ED. I don't know how or why. There just is.

Also, it's catering to the players. If you make a game for all languages, chances are the revenue will go up because they play a game they can easily fit into. More availability = More Players = More Cash. And besides, a lot of people here already know how to speak Portuguese.

If you can speak Spanish, Portuguese and Spanish are mutually intelligible :D

Yeah ive saw a few people talk a different language in game and i know a few people who's firstnlanguage isn't english. Plus it allows the game to be understood by loads more people.

Anything that improves the game for the players has to be a good idea. :)

I think Spanish is a lot more general language than port, deutsh after english... i would like spanish as the second most popular language in all world after english. i like language updates!

I think it's completely necessary, why wouldn't it be? It's always good to broaden the player base, and this is a good way to do it. I don't think it would be that difficult, they will probably use a program to do the translations, it might not be 100% accurate but it should be sufficient. However I don't know the details of this particular change, and I can't really say any more than that. Bottom line though is that it is a necessary and nice change.

What would be cool is if you had selected portuguese in ED and you were talking to an English person in portuguese it would translate it to english on the english person's screen. And back and forth and so on from the english to portuguese.

@ Wiseman

Like they did on AQW?
I saw the Dutch translation, I felt my inner child getting sucker punched in the gut.

I'm even willing to assist with the Dutch translation but they seem to prefere the Typo'd version.

I think its great,

The more people ED can get the better, then maybe from then releases will become more cost friendly if they have enough people giving them income then they can afford to lower things.

Will there be separate servers for people of each language? It just helps when you are mixing them in.

I think it's unnecessary, but if Chinese was needed, I might be able to help lol.

Are you serious? How is it useless and not needed? I always get tons of those spanish or non-speaking english partners who dont listen or understand a word you say and end up getting you killed all they say is "si" "no?" "jajajajajaja" then when another player speaks the same langauge and they have a discussion or a arguement I dont even understand. It gets really annoying. That needs to be fixed. Apparently you never been in that situation as wiseman said it is completely necessary.

Engilsh is sort of the universal language, Mostly everyone knows how to speak it and epicduel probably helps people who isn't as good at it learn.

Im pretty sure its necessary because back on EDF i did alot of reports that were in spanish or german or whatever, mainly becuase i can swear in three languages but cant spell a single one of them, but also becuase they could say things that would easily have been filitered for us and hopefully this change will also have teh filter working in other languages

^Well I'm not gonna be polite to people I can't understand, as they just piss me off.

When I was factionless before I join Rispected Killaz (The original), I recieved quite a bit of portugese/spanish faction invites. They apparently don't know the work "no". Seriously.

Constructive!

Although EpicDuel is an all American game, converting the game to other languages will help broaden the player base.
I've ran into many foreign players who speak very little to no english, so it's not as if there will be no use for this.

It's understandable that you don't want this to take priority over more important features, but if this makes the game much more enjoyable to other players, then why not?

I would not think so Basic as that would divide the community.
