I have noticed a very unsettling trend in this game. Earlier bikes, like the hoverbike and Jetbike are literally half the size of recent bikes like Gamma Bike and Bionic Bear Bike. Earlier armors (even mercenary ones, but to less extent), like founders armor weren't nearly as enormous as recent armors like Telsa Armor. Earlier primary weapons, like dark blades and perferators are about 50% smaller than recent primaries like Delta Daggers and Wraith Reavers. Earlier sidearms, like Imperial ACP K are miniscule compared to the recent hulking stun guns. Earlier auxiliaries, like the bunnyzooka are a full head shorter than recent auxes like the new bunnyzookas and the serpent blasters. See what I'm getting at? Everything. is. getting. BIGGER. Why do you think all items nowadays are longer, wider, and more riddled with unnecessary bells and whistles that clutter your character? Perhaps it's an external symbol of the bloated stats and damage weapons have nowadays? Perhaps Nightwraith gets so exited drawing a weapon that he doesn't know when to stop? They're more powerful-looking in the purchase phase, I guess, but lets not forget the simple elegance of frostbane compared to the laughable pile of spikes that is the delta blade. Think of all the lag caused by animating these contraptions. I think one unnoticed reason ED Beta was more fun was the extra breathing room your character had. Simple but attractive items leaving a cool but uncluttered look. Think of it as music. With a certain number of instruments you can create a beautiful sound. But if you just keep adding and adding instruments you get a cluttered, dreadful mess. (See "Born this way" by Lady Gaga.) I think the same is true of epicduel items. Why do you think the devs are releasing consistently larger and more complex, over-the-top items? Do you like or dislike this trend? Discuss.
