By your logic, losing in a battle causes the character to be killed off, and their place taken by a replacement, no? The huge hole in this is with the players. Each one is unique (Although there are a ridiculous number of Fay Beee's doppelgangers running around). Now, suppose I lost, and therefore died. How would I be replaced? A clone? Now, clones (and robots, in the case of the Junker and Warbot) are expensive to produce. You said that yourself. Then suppose that the factories sell weapons. All the weapons in Delta V are horribly overpriced. But they fund the clone/robot production lines. And not only that, if cloning technology has advanced that far, they can also produce clones that don't feel pain, and are almost programmed to do their job. And then, suppose that Baelius and the Exiles use clones. Consider the following Situation: Mother: That cloning technology of Baelius' is quite convenient. Father: I know. Imagine if I was a City Guard, and not a factory worker. Ha! Mother: Of course dear. But they are all the same person, you know. Father: Yes, but who? (Just then, a little boy bursts in and runs up to his father) Son: Daddy, when are you going to take us to see George Lowe? Father: Now, now, little one. We'll find some time during the weekend. I promise. Son: Yay! I want to be just like him. Traversing the stars, killing people in a giant suit of armour, collecting tiny kittens... Thanks Dad! Father: You're welcome. (Smiles and ruffles the little boy's hair) Now, the second half is straying a little, but if you get my point, There is no genocide. Just the single minded killing of an army of mindless clones/robots, funded by the insatiable desire for better weapons. Slightly offtopic: Hypedxlord, how do you have access to: 1. The tribune 2. The obituaries?
