This isn't exactly a story,but more of my idea on dragons, the Draconians,Dravix,Dwakels,Drakels,and Half dragons. So like an encyclopedia, I shall start from the beginning.
I.Dragons
Dragons are famous creatues, legendary beasts. They are famous for their majestic looks, speed, and power. All dragons (with the exception of Earth Dragons, and Void Dragons) can fly and/or levitate, as well as breath an elemental flame. They are very strong both physically, and magically. Despite common myth, less than 5% of all dragons can actually speak more than 1 language.Through autopsies it has been proven that dragons belong in the lizard family, and are indeed cold blooded. Their comfortable temperatures depend on their element (i.e. Fire dragosn prefer blazing hot temperatures, Ice Dragons prefer cold rigid climates,and Earth dragons prefer temperatues similiar to most lizards). Although it is a common myth that dragons are greedy as they colect and steal much gold and valuables,but are highly aggressive when it is stolen, they only do it as a natural extinct. All animals have this,but when a lizard is stressed,it would try to be around high quantities of matter, which is what humans call "hoarding". In this case, when dragons are stressed they would go out and colelct gold, valuables and weapons, which frces people to believe they are selfish. Dragons are unique lizards as they are the only ones to actually care for one another. All dragons will retaliate when it's mate or youth is either injured, attacked,provoked or killed, and tend to stay with their mate until they die. When its mate or youth is killed or mortally wounded, it would fall into a depression or a rage, and both have explosive results. As evolution countines to play, these beasts manage to countinue to survive, and co-exist with their evolved forerunners.
II.Draconians
Draconians are the direct evolution of the dragons. They begin to shrink in size, give up the ability of flight and to shoot flames, and grow weaker than their dragon ancestor. However the draconains have developed secret weapons that their ancestors did not have. The first would be the ability to stand upright. This allowed more flexible movement, and fitting into smaller compact sizes. Another feature would be size. Since draconians are smaller, they do not need as much food as the dragons did, allowign them to spend less time hunting for food and more time for doing other things. The most powerful weapon however, are functioning thumbs. They do not do much for these beings, as there minds are brutish and simple, however they play a powerful role for their future evolutionary forms. Despite all these advantages, the dragons still have a much more clever mind, and began to use the draconians as a slave species. they share a jackal-lion relationship, as the draconian hunts, and the dragon always gets the best share. Most male draconians are used to protect their eggs, mates and themselves, and the female draconians are used to tend and heal dragons, their eggs and wounded draconians. If it was not for the efforts of other speices however/ the draconains most likely would have went extinct.
III. Drakels/Dwakels
The drakels are the most powerful and well developed creatures that share dragon blood. They have given up wings completely, are warm blooded, and have a greatly developed mind. Now with intensely functioning brains, and thumbs, they have been able to rely less on magic and their physical strength, and more on science. they are considered the wisest group of dragon kin, and they closely rival with human kind for being the top being on Lore. Drakels have a very intense magic force, however there body limits their use of magic, and can not unleash their total potential. They are considered the most technologically advanced creatures on Lore as well. The Dwakels are also much like these beings, however they are shorter and instead of being considered half human half dragon, they are half dwarf half dragon instead. Despite the drakels being even more intelligent than the dwakels, they have much more technological equipment than the Drakels, as they colonzied underground, and have found much more valuable metals than the Drakels.
IV. Dravix
Dravix are also a direct decendant of the draconians. They have a very high magical force, and barely rely on science. they are much wiser than the drakels, but their bodies are flimsy and weak, so they rely highly on magic to stay alive. They still carry wings, but they have been proven useless as they can not fly. Like the draconians, they have developed thumbs, but they have developed a natural form of telekinesis, thus rendering hands useless. Strangely however, despite their powers of teleportation, walking is the prefered mode of transportation (if within reasonable distance). It is through these beings, as well the dragons, that the draconians are still alive.
Half-Dragons
Half-dragosn are beings that are half human and half draconic. They occur naturally rarely, but can be forced as well. Half dragons normally look like humans but with small (and useless) wings. They also ahve a very strong forc eof magic, but most importantly, they can temporarily pre-evolve. That means they can turn into a dragon for a short period of time, and function like a normal dragon, with their memories. Most highly intelligent dragons are actually just transformed half bloods. Not all half dragons look like humans, an example would be Cyrus, who has the ability to transform into a draconian at will. It is unknown when this race of dragons came to be, but their arrival did not go unnoticed as most half-dragons tend to be very..explosive.
