We all know or have heard of the glorious beta phase. The time where everything was simple and all was equal.
The era of creative builds and nonstop chatter at oz, also those ackward moments at oz when no one is there for 2 minutes then like 10 players
appear out of no where, and the nonstop losing connection cuz of how crowded oz was back then lol. The time where 2v2 was fun and 1v1 was fun,
the time where friends mattered and there was no greed or slefishness, ok maybe there was a tad of selfishness from a few players. The time where
epicduel was my getaway from the real world for a bit paradise. Now how the flippity dip has this game become what it is today????????????????????
It's like titan had a nuclear explosion of horrible thoughts and ideas and exploded them into epicduel. No offence titan, I see that you and the team are trying
to find your way out of the wasteland but it seems you need a little help or nudge in the right direction. So what would make this game just simply more fun and creative?
What should titan take out or replace with? Please no sarcasm, flame, trolling, arguments unless there constructive and won't hurt someones feelings, or smoking. Have a nice year and i hope
we can get this topic pretty popular to draw the attention of a dev to see your brilliant ideas, Cheerios!

Isn't it funny how everyone ignores the more important topics and focus on stupid posts like WE NERF TLM NAO WHO AGREE those kind of posts get more responses than actual intelligent ones.

Dont worry Dunk i will post on your thread.

Honestly my thoughts.

Give everyone 10000 varium. Then toss a nuke to eliminate every attempt to balance the TLMs but it wont affect NPCs weapons var cred and faction war bar (i would like to kill fame to but theirs a leader board to it

EDIT: Enhancements too

^Eh guess that's ok for me, basically I just want the game to be simpler like it was in beta where you just made a build and had fun with friends.
Nothing like that happens now :/

Beta was the best, Gamma was alright, now i dont know what to think of epicduel...this game has changed sooo much. I kinda miss the simplicity of it all. im not sure there is anyway to make this current situation better.

Legendary AK!!!

Here's my theory and anyone who played alts during Beta would agree with me. Low levels during that time were mainly a whole bunch of choice words that would get me banned from just saying them. Of course, most high levels never fought the low level "bad community" and never saw what they were like. But guess what? The low levels that stayed playing somewhat actively eventually made it up to the lvl ranges where we could fight them and see what they were like. They probably lost interest in the game due to balance issues all the time(artillery, heal loop, massacre, terrible focus, strength mercs, etc.) or not enough stuff to do. After Gamma they probably gained more interest with new items, NPCs and features and some balance fixes. Now they managed to get up to high levels and we see just how terrible they are. They didn't suddenly change into rude jerks upon reaching high levels. Chances are they were like that most of the game. That means it was only a matter of time before they managed to get into the spotlight. If you play alts now you'll see less rude players and more silent types. A much better alternate I will admit but not as interesting.

ND mallet.... you took the words right out of my mouth, You are sooo right about it all. What i think is the real problem is now, Don't mean to offend anyone, But i think its the community itself.

I honestly don't think the community is that bad...

I go to oz and usally get a hello from everyone.

Alot of battles are similar.
Just a few STR builds every now and then theat get a few blocks get a bit angry but they need to realise that if you go a STR build expect BAD luck.

How do we fix this? Its simple. Convince AE to drop varium prices as they are far too overpriced OR increase the amount of varium in each varium package.
Next, balance the game and stop limiting skills by adding high requirements. Take off enhancements off secondaries and auxiliaries and refund everyone who bought said enhancements. Lastly, communicate with the community. Cindy can't do everything and it would be nice for you to actually show your faces around the community. This game was better off without AE. During Beta, the Devs visited the forums daily, especially in the old forums where it was much better and you could show your creativity.

Just an FYI, Beta was pretty bad if you weren't a varium player. I could actually argue that right now is better than Beta, partially.

Also, for people saying this game was better off before AE, means it was better off without 99% of ED Players, AE Staff, Resources, Servers, Payment system, ect. If you're going to argue that AE ruined ED but can't acknowledge that you are also part of AE, then...

@laces They would have to refund everyone manually. And they would have to refund every aux and gun that was sold and enhanced as well. Also, if the staff is constantly talking with us, then releases get delayed more. Hudelf has a thread for questions we can ask him and he posts quite often in that. It's Cindy's job to be a link between us and the Admins. Ashari and Wiseman aren't technically staff but they also pass along stuff as well and both post somewhat actively considering their responsibilities. And I was going to say something about your Pre AE statement but PD beat me to the punch.

Understandable, but if Titan or NW could at least come on and give us some idea of what they're doing would be helpful. And Pre-AE is debatable. Community was much more mature, game was more fun, old forums were better, etc.

The old ED community was much less mature. If you think this is bad think how much of a hellion the Pre-AE ED was. Granted, this place isn't perfect, but it's a large improvement from the old in 80% of cases.

Cindy can most definitely testify.

^Well I guess the "old forums" is subjective. Its debatable and I guess, a pointless argument.

I think the removal of pornographic sigs, oversized sigs (in space and filesize), useless spam, unbound cursing, endless hordes of stupid people, and a better forum layout pretty much makes this community a great deal improved than the last forum was.

The problem with these forums is that it isn't suited to ED. Before there were sections for each class, thus creating a sense of class allegiance. Also, moderators were less strict and were more likely to move threads around rather than locking them altogether for the mere hint of a suggestion/inquiry/bug. Moreover, what kind of joke is discussing suggestions in PM? Nobody else can contribute to the conversation when that happens. Don't forget that the background and theme of those forums fostered an ED/futuristic atmosphere.

Anyways, there really is no way to "quick-fix" the game. Many areas need improvement. Maybe if ED hired a Comp Sci major from MIT or Notre Dame, then maybe some progress can be made.
