In my opinion, I see the balance discussion thread as a mess of posts... a really big mess. Not only is the topic of discussion always changing, but some great posts including a suggestion or question are casually left behind because of the 25 posts per page limit. For an example I wanted to get back to one of Joe's posts in our discussion but I have missed it for months, not to be continued until who knows when. I have a problem with this thread being a key place of discussion about PVP (the core of EpicDuel) and talk of problems and solutions. Posts are always left for dead or going unnoticed and that is wrong, because what if someone brings to light a very very significant problem or solution to our table but is at the end of the last page and maybe 1 or 2 people actually catch it? Well I have quite a few suggestions to upgrade this thread. 1: Create sub-threads within Balance Discussion for different components like the stats or the classes... 2: Dedicate an area of discussion to a popular debate. For example the grand majority of people may be weighing in on a new robot... 3: Use a post voting system. Up vote or down vote someone else's post depending on if you support or do not support the solution or problem at hand. A vote also requires a text reply. Spam or multiple accounts results in punishments being given... 4: Use different settings for managing this thread. Examples include 50 posts per page or like Reddit, all posts on 1 page but still using the 30 page lock method (750 posts).

I do not prefer the current thread architecture.

i never agreed with that thread made by lord barrius.
the rule changes were from him.

theres all kinds of balance.

stat balance, (str, dex, tech, support, HP, EP)
class balances (wont bother naming all 6 classes)
skill balance
item balance
mode balance ( 1 vs 1, team, and juggernaut)
NPC balance
Luck factor balance
Enhancements balance
Varium to non varium balance

and i know im missing a couple others.

but its a huge mess when u cram all of this stuff into a single thread.
it literally becomes a cluster fudge...... and apparently theres a rule where u cant quote the post above u. which makes it even worse when the average balance post consist of more than 3 paragraphs. as if we shouldn't be able to quote and talk on a specific part of the topic.

so in this sense, i very much agree.

I agree, the balance suggestion needs a massive overhaul. I stopped posting in there because it was so chaotic. (Also because my ideas rarely get any kind of response.)

yeah thanks.
i also added varium to non varium balance.

and i agree it needs an overhaul.

someone makes a reply to someone and sometimes u have to go back several pages to see the post.

also not to mention that if u do post during day time or afternoons, it gets easily overshadowed quickly by new posts without being replied.

this whole thread seemed more like
"here u go discuss here. but we wont be reading any of it since its a mess" from the staff.

 Belated bump to reply:

The Balance Suggestions thread was only meant to be a temporary repository for all balance suggestions due to them literally overflowing the GD. Oftentimes I would see four threads with the same balance topic in mind on the first page. The balance thread exists to streamline that process for my already overworked AKs.

The idea of a full fledged board has been discussed, but at present is on hold because we don't have the staff necessary to run it. Right now such a board would have to be micromanaged by my own team, and they're already kept busy with the GD and other duties. And since the balance thread is already a lot of work for them, imagine how much tougher their job would become with another full board to look after! And we don't have a reliable pool of AKs to pull from in order to staff this hypothetical board to begin with.

Long story short, I'm okay with the idea of another board, but I'd rather have ED's own balance team staffing such a board. They're the only ones who can accurately respond to balance issues that the players point out, as our AKs are not privy to the plans of the ED game staff. A balance board is something whose management should probably be left to the game staff themselves.
