Hello. This is the second thread that I did not have time for posting yesterday. This is a suggestion, but I would like to know if it is worth your time since it is doable. The client handles the servers handles the players (or instances if you will). An EpicDuel server caps out at 1, 000 player instances. This can cause troubles for developers to work with; for example, if all players in a server were all playing a single player NPC battle, the server battle manager counts 500 players and 500 NPCs, so the server is "full". When the players leave their battles, the server will read 500 players again. I am proposing a very clean way of handling multiple players in 1 battle. Not 3v3, no not that (lag). I am proposing a new form of battle. Multiplayer 1v1 and multiplayer 2v2. How this works is that either by being in a group or doing random battle, players join together as a team. So now we have 2 teams of 4 players each for example. So how does this work? The first 1 or 2 members depending on the battle type enter the battle as normal players. For 2v2 there would be 2 members from each team facing each other in battle as usual. However, the players that are not in battle for either side are dormant, waiting to be used in the reserves. Unless the system for calling a reserved player is automatic, 1 active player and 1 reserved player can tag each other for a swap when the active player dies. Swapping is not free, reserved players are only brought into play when the appropriate active player in a battle dies. I was wondering if free swapping would be OK. In my opinion it would not be since that opens another dimension of abusing battles. So swapping is only meant for replacements. By the way, this would help battle tracker immensely. How it helps battle tracker, is in moments especially like when a Cyber Hunter or Tactical Mercenary manages to kill all enemy players without dieing themselves. Would that not be great evidence? EDIT: This is in the right direction of allowiing total faction battles by the way. Thoughts?
