Posting Design Notes
If you would like to post a Design Note thread on the forums, you are required to have the thread fully formatted BEFORE you post the thread. There is a "preview" button right next to "ok" to submit the thread. If you need to check to see that everything is in order, use that. It is not a race to see who can post the Design Notes first, or see how quickly after the Design Notes are made that you can post them on the forums. Quality is highly valued above speed in this case.
If you want to try your hand at posting the Design Notes, but are not sure how to properly format them, you can look at previous Design Note threads for an idea of how it should look, and read this thread about Forum Commands to learn how to properly post pictures, links, text colors, etc. You may also pm any one of the AQW GD forum staff listed here and ask them if you still have questions about properly formatting the Design Notes. If you are unsure if they are right or not, do NOT post them and assume one of the forum staff will "fix" your problem. Your thread will be deleted and made room for one that is properly formatted.

For a while I have noticed that many Design Notes threads are sloppily copy/pasted from the AQW website to this forum, and left for some of the forum staff to format and tag. I thought this was simply because people may not know how to properly format the DNs, but recent events have proven me wrong.
Contrary to what many believe, it is NOT the job of the forum staff to come behind you and fix your DNs because you couldn't be bothered to do it yourself. If you can't do it right, don't do it at all. If you don't know how to do it right, there are ways to learn. This is NOT a race, and quality will be valued over speed from now on.

Drakath Strikes Back
The staff avatar and their title, in this case it's "Chaos Maker", goes at the top of the Design Notes. The avatar is linked to their personal tag as well: [link=Tag Link][image]Image Link[/image][/link] A list of all the common staff avatars you'll most likely need can be found in the post below.
The title of the Design notes is linked to the individual post. Use this title and the date to name your post on the forums. For example, this forum thread should be titled "Design Notes May 29th, 2013: Drakath Strikes Back". Remember you should NEVER tag your own thread with =AQW=, as this is the job of the AQW GD ArchKnights and Moderators.

Colors
An important thing to note first is that the whole of a Design Notes post is ALWAYS colored, even if it's just black, instead of leaving normal text as the natural gray inside quote tags (as shown by the quotes used in The Rules section above). So before you put anything else inside the quote tags, use a color tag.
Most staff just use black, such as Alina and Artix, in which case you can use the following: [quote][color=#000000]Design Notes[/color][/quote] Cysero often uses #006600.
Beleen often uses #FF1493.

Linking
Mainly all the links within Design Notes appear like this. Use the following code to get it right: [link=][color=#990000][u]Text[/u][/color][/link] Note that the link function must go on the outside of the code for the format to work. Sometimes you may have to add bold to the code as well.
Lists
Lists are often used in Design Notes to help order things. We have both ordered/numbered lists and unordered/bulleted lists.

Images and Videos

[b]Text[/b][/center] However, videos (normally via YouTube) are a completely different matter. We cannot embed videos on to the forums, therefore, we have to link them instead. Remember to always use quietube though to prevent linking to any inappropriate content.
For example, the 2013 DragonCon Design Notes had a YouTube video embedded, yet on the forums we would show this instead:

Other Notes
- Resources: If you are uncomfortable with forum coding, use the Forum Commands guide.
- Take your time: It is NOT a race. We would prefer to see a full formatted Design Notes posted than a rushed post. Any posts which are not fully formatted are only going to get deleted anyway, so if you want your post to stay, make sure it's fully formatted!
- Spacing: Forum coding can sometimes cause a problem with spacing, with Design Note posts, you're likely to find that using the center and list tags will create a lot of space, so be careful of that when using them.
- Preview: To make sure you've got everything right, ALWAYS use the "Preview" button before actually submitting the post. This will show you how your post will appear, so you can spot any errors you may need to change.
If you have any questions or need assistance, PLEASE contact one of us AQW GD ArchKnights and we will be happy to help. However, the bottom line is that if you have no idea how to properly post the Design Notes, just leave it for someone who does.
