Congratulations to all of the Finalists, best of luck in the battle ahead.

For the Finals round, a more aggressive enforcement of the post schedule will be followed. Speak to me if you have questions or concerns. You must post once every three days.

The first cut will be this Friday, July 27, unless someone idles out, which I certainly hope does not occur.

The Finals are slightly different from the drop-offs: every five days a character will be cut from the competition while the remaining continue to fight. For the sixth cut, when three combatants remain, the victor will be chosen. If you are cut, you have three choices:

  • Withdrawal, where your entrant will know that he has not been deemed fit to continue, and can thus withdraw if he or she so desires,
  • Surrender, where your entrant becomes open to free kill by any remaining competitor or
  • Spite, where your entrant may use all of their remaining energy in a final, last ditch attack against the other competitors; however, after doing so, they are open to free kill by any remaining competitor.

    The Finals Arena is posted, and open! First drop-off will be Friday, July 27, 2012.

    Until then, the Cellar and Fountain Arena's will be reopened for those remaining to continue the fight and those chosen to post any remaining actions before they are transported to the Finals.

    		 Congrats to all who've made it and commiserations to all who didn't.

    In particular- a Geddesmck, I know we've been in direct competition, but I've really enjoyed your posts, both in terms of the quality of writing and the fact that you had a really interesting character in the scarred prince (and Cullan!). All the best.

    Right... now for what should prove an 'interesting' encounter between the dark lord and his unwilling champion...

    		I'm a little sad that I never made the cut, but it's for the best.
    I would've never been able to participate anyways.

    And I might never until I graduate school, which is three years. The placement of these games and the placement of Sea Cadet Camp is a precarious position. There's no Internet at Cadet Camp, and you always leave in the summer months.

    Screwed over by timing, I am. I first wanted to participate in these finals when I was thirteen, then worked through RPA with the ambition of getting to these boards. That's the only reason I ever got into these forums.

    		Congragulations to those who made it. .Discipline, you earned it. I had a long, descriptive post of Talon's death ready to post this morning. However, it was closed just before I got there. So, I'll post Talon living, and he may show up in other RPs to attempt to regain his flight. Good luck to all, and I'll be back next year.

    I have a question to superjars: How are the combatants supposed to enter the arena? Are the gates open or closed? Will they open up all at once, or are you just expected to walk through?

    		Myself and N'aschi are very honoured to be here.

    Thanks Tdub, that's really appreciated. To be honest I thought you were going to go through, your posts were brilliant and you went all out in-depth to create you character, I respect that.

    N'aschi is now in the arena after his brief stay in the elemental realm of wind. He's also creating a localized sandstorm right now using the sands of the arena. Good job his eyes are covered, or that stuff would really sting. xD Congrats to every other competitor and come at me with all you have. There is no holding back now.

    		 Geddesmck- you definitely made me work for it. And then some.

    All- the Dreadnight has arrived, and is steadily marching in Na'aschi direction (who he has assumed to be a wind 'warlock' as well as an assassin from the localised sandstorm beginning around him).

    I credit Rowan Atkinson with the inspiration for much of the attempted humour in my portrayal of the lord of darkness.

    		I posted and almost immediately edited a minor detail out with permission from the jars of superness. It was a sneaky edit, too, all colortagged and everything.

    Tiure's song is all quiet because he doesn't want to be killed. He remembers what happened last time he ran into the arena and started playing loud songs and doesn't relish of the idea of becoming dead again. Eventually, though, if nobody throws stuff or yells at him to shut up, he'll move on to louder songs. Apply caution, as he's scared as a jackrabbit and might retaliate to aggressive actions like pointing at him and whispering horrible things about him.

    		Point of order: The correct term for your characters is "Chosen of <element>." There is only one "Champion" and that is the winner of the entire thing. Just so you know.

    		Any and possibly all things that Alexis hears and sees are processed through her very broken mind a liable for complete misunderstanding by her. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

    Edit: I currently have no power. There's a huge thunderstorm and I'm not sure when it's coming back. I'll write my post, but it might not be until later that I can post it. Sorry. (posting this from my phone, which won't let me do something long). I'll have it up the moment I can.

    		Due to idling, Viraus Saukand was lost in transit between Fountain and the Finals Arena. The Lady of Light is quite disappointed and has left the arena, leaving 7 pillars standing and 7 competitors fighting.

    Next cut will occur on Wednesday, August 1.

    		As a notice of absence, I will be in Tunisia from Wednesday night for a week. There will likely be no way to access the forums there, so I will be unable to post for that week.

    I need to talk to Mirai, once that is done, I will try my best to get up a post before that one week period. This situation is inconvenient, but as I did not factor the EC into my vacation plans, might well end up being my downfall in this tournament. Nevertheless, I shall enjoy poolside rum and be merry, returning to the news of whether or not N'aschi has survived my absence.

    		Quicksilver. I.e. Mercury. I.e. metal that is liquid at room temperature, but is not water, and highly toxic.

    Solid as steel: a slight exaggeration. It does not have quite the resistance to piercing that steel does, but it is an effective wall. Something such as Alexis' sword would likely pierce the wall and then get stuck. Same with ice spikes, if they're tough enough to not simply shatter.

    Dimensions are approximately seven feet tall and three feet wide, and about 1/8 of an inch thick or so. Possibly less.

    		Post up, N'aschi has taken the shortswords that were in Gallaphile Dreadnight's belt within his bio.

    Mirai has approved this action as it has been decided it's quite awesome that N'aschi keeps using Dread's own items against it in hopes of smashing open that mystic mythril casing and getting to the tasty magical nougat inside. xD

    As previously stated, tomorrow I depart for my vacation and it is unlikely I will be able to post while I'm there. (Although if there is a way, I'll try dammit!)
