This thread serves as the OOC for the Fountain Arena.

The entrants to this arena are listed below:

I just made my entry post. I made it longer than I usually would make a first post, because I'm posting from Greensboro, North Carolina. I was posting from my Ipod. I'll be able to post again in a few days. Good luck to all.

Only two competitors in the arena? Antagonize the other one? Sure, why not?


@mrbk: In the beginning post, you want to enter the arena (obviously), establish your position in the arena, and pick a starting action (such as Talon going to the tree and Viraus mocking Talon, unintentionally, I might add). Traditionally, you may include a scene prior to the arena that demonstrates or shows something about your character.
Oh, and have some fun while you're at it.

Apocalypse, I believe your understanding of the arena's layout is slightly confused; from the entrance the graves upon the hill are in the upper-left quarter and the newer graves are to the immediate left.

Upon further scrutiny, I can safely say that I made a bloody mistake. (I'm a bit more than a little rusty, I'm afraid). Not exactly sure how I confused that. Bah, oh well.

Ahh the Fountain Arena. It never fails that I end up here.

Quick question on the form of my writing. Is it required that I stick to a third person perspective? I feel like I have a stronger voice in first person, but if I can't use it then I'll be fine without it. I was just wondering before I start writing. I work during the day tomorrow, so my post will be up sometime tomorrow night either way.

This should be fun. It's nice having a reason to get some writing done.

 Mrbk, your positioning of the combatants is incorrect. Aurim is standing in the lower-left quadrant, amongst the newer grave stones. Viraus is, I believe, somewhere near the entrance, facing Talon but not actually that close to him. Talon himself is indeed under the oak tree.

Also, speaking of trees, I don't believe there IS a second tree for Brandon to climb. Unless, of course there's a smaller tree in one of the other quarters, but, certainly it wouldn't be as big as the oak Talon is standing under.

If I'm incorrect in my understanding I apologise, but hopefully this clears things up somewhat.

@The Extinguisher, Any style is fine, as long as what you do can be easily understood by others.

Did I say tonight? I meant early tomorrow morning. I kinda lost track of time and it's only half done. I feel comfortable knowing I'm not the last one to post, but I still feel bad waiting this long.

EDIT: Done done done. First post is up. It's not as long as I thought it was going to be.
But it's always fun calling attention to yourself by yelling at things in your head.

I apologize for my short post. Talon only made a basic action, but when the time calls, more complex moves will make for longer posts. Apocalypse, the actions described at the end of the post tell what Talon will do if Viraus dodges, or is thrown off-balance. Talon proved that he is bad at guessing alignment, and has no idea to Brandon's whereabouts.

I will post tomorrow.

However, one quick thing for Tdub: The tail and extra arms are nestled behind his back so they can't be seen from the front (mentioned it in my first post). Talon should be in front of Viraus, so he shouldn't have noticed them yet. (Not a real problem, just another thing to sort out)

Ah. From your bio, I assumed the elbows bent backwards, but the forearms came forward to where they were visible. However, Talon was watching the entrance, but not from directly in front. Standing diagonally from the entrance, in front of the oak tree, he was viewing Viraus from an angle. Eagle eyes probably would have picked up the arms. Talon did not get a good look at the tail.

Now, the tricky thing is, I don't know what I shall post next. I do not want Brandon to move out of the tree for safety's sake.
I'm no fool, hahaha!

Although I don't know if I can make a significant post. And this is my third (or second, I do not know) day of not posting, sooo...now what?

Sorry for the late entry, but Desdemona is now in! Just to be clear, she's in the lower right quadrant with the obsidian tombstone engraved with the viewer's name, standing in the centre of the ring of standing stones. If anyone has any questions, I'll be on here tomorrow as well as most likely on IRC. May your blood flow freely!

Augh! I just get back from my trip to Greensboro, which I did with some of my school during the summer. I look at my calendar, and I have another trip, this one with my youth group, with basically the same layout. And I can't bring my Ipod on this trip. (Too easy to lose or break.) So I need to post today. I hope Apocalypse can get a post up today, but if you can't, could someone else attack me so I have a reason to post? Mrbk is actually right above, with Talon unaware of his position.
