Ok so this has been bothering me for quite a while now. The factions in ED are dead. Seriously, I have never seen so many factions be so inactive in ED and all the changes in influence and in making it available to make facs with credits only did nothing to help. even worse now all the non varium players get to make their own facs and that's what most are doing now, Instead of joining the already existing factions. Which also means that most factions will be half empty as varium players more often than not relied on non varium players to fill the vacant slots in the factions. The wars were not a bad idea, but even then interaction between factions and alignment members was still kept to a minimum, everybody was doing their own thing, paying almost no attention to what others did. So I thought it over a little and I have a small idea on how to make it a bit more interesting for factions. We should be allowed to make faction alliances and this is how it would work

Faction leaders and officers could meet and decide to be allies and aid each other in various ways. first of all they could all agree on making the alliance. Alliances can only be made with factions from the same alignment and can involve 2 or max 3 different factions. They can help eachother by lets say exchanging members between them. for example Faction A could give faction B three of it's members, so long as faction B gave faction A 3 of it's own members in return (max 3 exchanges for 24 hours and you cant exchange the same player more than once within 24 hours). Also they could be allowed to help eachother out with tokens by making it available for them to donate to eachothers flags, or having a combined stash of tokens which they could use as the leaders and officers see most fit. The factions involved in these alliances would still exist as separate groups, but available to help eachother. They could still keep their own influence but also have a combined alliance influence, which would diminish should 1 fac leave the alliance but have no effect on the inf of other facs. So it would be sort of having an alignment within the alignment . And there would be leaderboards to determine the top alliances in Legion and the top alliances in exile.

Quite interesting idea I must say since Factions do serve little purpose nowadays.

The idea is perfect, in fact I think it should be implemented by the end of the day. the member exchange is the best part. Also I think the founders should receive the special achievement for exchanging members. something like, Idk maybe a name of a person who hands over other peoples body to strangers for his own gain. what would that be called .

Idea is not bad, but as long as there are no player benefits - only faction benefits - it will quickly fall out of interest.

Factions are mostly unattractive because they only help a player to get 2 measly achievements: flag captured and world domination. And those are one-time achievements.

So I think the most important thing that factions need for becoming more interesting is giving more benefits (achievements, tokens, credits, idk) for its loyal members.

Yeah like maybe 2,500 credits for playing in the one faction every day for a week or something like that. Achievements for being active every day since faction creation once the faction reaches a certain day since they have been created like 100, 200 or 500. I have seen really good people reject my invite because there wasn't enough achievements to get.

I like the idea! I also like AqworldThunder idea too. How about we also add this idea of fraction bank. It has like current tax % rate that will take from all players (The Leader will decide what the tax rate should be) The max should be like 10%. Lowest 2%. The Leader of fraction can give out pay for various things and he can also give other officer's these powers. Creds Only no Varium! Leader or its player with the power to do this can't send themselves creds. To make sure they don't just create another account and let him join and give him power's to give creds then give creds to the leader ether A. Leader can't receive creds or B. Have some program that will see the same IP address and make it not able to send creds to any accounts in the fraction with the same IP address. But this is just suggestion. (I know its possible to do so for IP address idea cause just read today's design notes)
