hey night wraith whats with the art on the new weapons o.o when i see the azreal, frost, celtic and the infernal mutating and look at the rest of the top end gear its looks like not much effort has been put. The azreal its totally awesome with the heart beating inside!
Can we expect some heart thumping mindblowing art for the omega phase ?
Is it possible to add split damaging aux with the same requirements and stats in the line of the serpant aux and if possible a physical version of the massive strike ?

I didnt know where to post this so move it to whereever necessary. t

*Split damage --> I know it'll do both Physical and Energy damage , but what way?
*Physical MS --> No , just ... no . Plat's Pride is already causing problems , no need to add more of it .

About NW's art ...
IMO , it's great !

Art is like Pokemon : It evolves during the years / times it's around . Sometimes it's strong ( great ) but sometimes the other way around ( lousy ) . Back in earlier times , the weapon art wasn't so great , but now it's awesome !

Vendzooka was cool lol.

But NW does a pretty good job. Im surprised he still has weapon Ideas. theres hundreds in ED.

They look quite cool, it just costs a lot to buy and enhance them (almost 20 dollars...)

We do have to admit the older items were mindblowing in terms of artwork.

But the reason why Rui. feels this way can be understood too. The recent releases of weapons were not drawn by Nightwraith or Charfade as far as I know. The most recent Harvest items were drawn by AQW artists, while the player suggestion shop items were drawn by (you guessed it!) players.

As such, the weapons might not scream EpicDuel as much as weapons like Celtic Cleaver, Delta Destroyer, Draconic Devastator and Destroyer, but still, give credit where credit is due - art standards are still as high as ever.

to be honest i didn't like the harvest items that much, they are too AQWish(well they are made by AQW arstist afterall). the reason i play ED is because i like sci fi stuff and not magic fantasy related things(that means i don't like AQW, DF or AQ), so yeah i feel that ED lacks the futuristic punk vibe theme in some of its items now.

In my opinion, i think the ED artist had a ruch of adrenaline when designing The Frost Destroyer and Azreals Curse.

Then i t kinda went downhill from that..

(Bionic battlegear)

Picked it right back up though with the Dragon Buster II

Aah, Rui, just look at the Light Blades, then look at the Dragon Buster 2. Big difference since 3+ years ago.

Flood The Market And Value Is Decreased. This Is The Problem In EpicDuel.

The Concept Of "Rare" Seems To Be Lost On The Staff.

If You Have A "New Rare" Item Every Few Weeks... They Actually Become COMMON Items.

Remember The Days When Getting A Promo Item Was Something Special?

It Felt Like You Were Getting Something Of Value And Something That Would Not Be Replaced.

Now, Just Wait 2 Weeks. Another Weapon With Similar Or Better Stats Will Arrive.

It's Maddness. All About Making Money. As Often As Possible.

If You Have To Do Artwork For 12 Weapons A Year, Then They Really Are Unique And Designed With Care.

If You Are Doing 12 Weapons A Month... Meh.

Mass Producing Items Does Not Make The Game Better.

to add along with that, the staff should focus more on improving game quality, and replay value.
i hear balance is horrendous right now.
iv'e made my fair share of ideas to improve game quality and replay value, i dont feel the need to repost like 10 pages of stuff thats most likely not going to be read.

to me the 3 swords in the past had the best epic designs, and with recent promo items the quantity of them is uncomparable to the promo package during the gamma phase which had the special promo gear plus the gamma bike and gamma bot. so increasing the quantity of the gear in the promo package to 2-3 items would make it worth it.

and back to topic, i think nightwraith's/charfade's designs are as epic as ever, even though the recent promo packages lack in some detail and freshness to them but the shading on them makes the gear just as good as the most awesome looking weapon.

Rare isn't needed in a game, it's a word that gives certain people sense of self-accomplishment. What makes you better than other players because you have limited item? You still use it in the same way as others, art shouldn't be as big issue if it hits as good. It's a waste of art, effort and time to release item and make it rare hence why not many items are very rare or perma rare, more like seasonal since people can get them again at some point.

Buffy, you mention how rare loses value and making 12 weapons a year is better than 12 weapons a month. What's the problem with design if you care about stats? And no, you're wrong. Items of the same Level have the same stats as any other item at that level but different set-up. Only difference in stats or damage which weapon of the same level can have is due to the status (Varium, Limited/Seasonal Rare, or both) or the leans (stat lean or damage lean). So no. It's not about making as much money as possible but you seem desperate enough to make a switch for the art not the stats which is your own 'problem' not Staff's since they aren't doing any harm by giving us different stat layouts of an item that may fit different builds more.
Did you know that Lvl 33 items can still compete at our Lvl 35 cap? You aren't forced to upgrade every level for sake of +1 damage and +4 stats at most, if not even less. Difference is so small that it doesn't make that big change in the battle if you play out your strategy well to cover the gaps. Learning how to spend Varium wisely will allow you to save as much money as possible rather than telling Devs how they milk money off us. If you cannot use it efficiently then it's your task to learn how to do it, not ours.

Businesses disagree. Not everyone may be able to afford an item or may not find it appealing to them so variety is good. The result may be the same but the product isn't. It's what you make out of it, not us.

and to ur point about weapon variety, we already have massive amounts of enhancement options, more options via based stats by bringing in a boat load of new weps every month isn't necessary.

Using the same weapons is also repetitive and gets dull. What if x player finds y weapon bad due to the art yet player z finds y weapon look great? That's variety. Also game = business. Improving one improves the other, that includes variety in terms of items since more players are likely to buy them due to their art or stats.

:/ yeah the old weapons looked amazing, look at frostbane, azraels etc. Those were epic. Now its... ordinary, way too ordinary. Dont start an argument over this, this is just a personal opinion!
