What if the game was so that both people have 15 secs to choose an attack and then they both attack at the same time. If both die at the same time then there is a draw.

@above nope, this is a turn taking game, if they were to make it like this then it would be like AQW PVP, what if the player has slow internet? it means they die.

This part is blatantly untrue and makes no sense.
However, i do agree that this would not be beneficial to the game.

@above in AQW PVP whoever lags or freezes, it means that they are gonna lose or be KO'ed. his system is just like AQW, so if the game freezes or lags on my side, then my opponent will take the advantage to keep striking me while i can do nothing. play some AQW then you might get what i mean.

But... a draw? perhaps whoever had less hp or whoever did more damage?

You don't understand the suggestion then, if you think it would make any difference on the impact of lag. It remains a turn based game, but both turns are executed at once.
Fully read and understand the suggestion.

@above that wouldn't work out well either, it will still have the impact on the game since who ever have lag they won't be able to attack first.

Stop posting the same thing after i explained that it's incorrect. Neither player goes first. Both attacks are executed simultaneously. This has been explained to you multiple times.

I agree that it wouldn't work, but your reason has to be valid and you need a proper understanding of what you're discussing before posting.

@above attacking at the same time eh? tell me about it, so the 2 players engage in the middle of the screen and all the animations gets mixed up, lag still apply, you fail to see my point. attacking at the same time won't happen, it means they need to re animate everything and recode everything, now i still see people missing their turn because of lag, and this would cause more lag since there is alot of movement in the screen, lag causes disconnection, disconnection=unfair battle.

also please state your reason to why it wouldn't work instead of saying it wouldn't work.

There, you partially answered the question you asked me as to why it's a bad idea.

This is NOT lag, this is slowdown and slowdown DOES NOT cause disconnects.
Lag is a combination of high latency and packet loss.

They would have to recode the way the battle system works
They would have to reanimate every single skill to be able to work together in a way that somehow allows two players to meet in the middle with their attacks... which would make no sense and be awkward.
It would remove many strategic elements such as turn skipping, reacting to cooldowns and warmups properly, and would vastly change the way that Skill Prediction works.

too much movement+detail+shading causes lags and disconnects. even nightwraith said so himself, you can't argue with what he says.

No, that'll be caused by packet loss (When information that is meant to be sent to the server doesn't make it) or latency (which can cause sent packets to not be recieved on time. A good example of this is losing your turn if you use a skill with only a few seconds left on a bad internet connection.)

Servers don't like it when they lose information or recieve it at the wrong time and they react in funny ways to it. ED's way happens to be disconnection if it happens too much.

@above lets just say that it is caused by both reasons, nightwraith said himself that too much detail, shading and complex animations cause lags.

The only way i can see this happening is with slowdown so drastic that the game itself actually becomes unplayable anyway. (Like how dark souls will kick you offline if you go below 15FPS. But anybody who plays a game at 15fps should not be playing games on pc. Especially if they think that the 15fps is an acceptable framerate to be playing that game at.)

@above it is already slowing down for some, so 2 players or even 4 players moving at the same time would cause a disaster.

Disregarding the possible connection problems, having your turns happen at the same time only makes things more confusing in terms of keeping track of how much damage you and your opponent have dealt/need to deal to win. It also further complicates what were to happen if someone uses a shield or debuff. And then there's the question of what would happen to 2v2. Too much work for little payoff.

If both players use a skill at the same time, how will the effect of the skill work then?
And like Trizz said, the animations would be messed up.
