Hey guys!
So I've seen the biggest concern these days is how powerful strength builds are on most classes.
Eversince I've started playing Epicduel I've wondered: Why does the damage you deal with your gun increase with your strength?!?!?!
Seriously, it would make a LOT more sense if it would scale with your dexterity, or accuracy.

Lately I figured this might make that strength build lose some power (which is Energy/Phys damage diversity), and could possibly slightly balance things out? And isn't dexterity that stat that nobody really puts high points in?
So here it is:

Sidearm damage will now increase with your dexterity, rather than your strength.

Let me know what you guys think!

P.S. If you think full dex builds will own because of the physical defense it also grants, take into consideration this works for Robots as well, with tech.

i honestly dont think that would make a huge difference to strengh builds i also think it would be a buff for 5 focus tanks....

I think that would be good because Hunters and mages could make some wicked high defense multi builds that you never see any more.

Supported, let's take some of the unblockables away from strength builds.

Strength builds could easily switch over to tank-strength with lots of dex. Also, I made a CH build with insane dex and a massive block chance, as well as level 7 multi shot which did 69 damage. If it improved with dex, it could unbalance specific builds while not exactly fixing many strength builds.

Dex builds would be going crazy, especially Tech Mages who have DA. Also, most good Strength builds have high Dex. Besides, they don't even rely on Sidearm that much unless it's a TM or BM.

I made a dex build once, it did not work well. It could be a bit much for jugg because of plasma rain scaling with dex.

It doesn't make sense for a sidearm to increase damage by strength. I mean come on, do we pull the trigger harder and it does more damage? O_o So yes, I agree with this!

So instead of having strength builds OP we will have OP dex builds. This would create an even strong breed of hunters, as well as Mages since all these classes have moves that work with dex. The only class you would be nerfing would be the merc call.

Ooooh didn't think of that.... Maybe a mix of Strength and Dex...?

Why would dex builds immediatly become OP?!?!?!
Their only damage would be a 2 turn (maybe 3 turn if needed) cooldown gun, whereas strength builds can pump out damage every turn?
And saying tanks who just go pure dex would be OP, is that not the same as tanks going high in tech and using their robot for damage?

And saying there are abilities that scale with dex: these are not a problem, because abilities like bunker buster scale with building defense as well.
The reason strength builds become so incredibly strong is not because abilities like Berzerker and Massacre scale with just your strength but with your weapon damage as well. None of your abilities do so (besides DA)

I fully support this idea.

I have suggested this a few times and wondered the same thing myself.

First time I suggested it was way back on the old epic duel forums.

Yes it would have a few kinks to wear out but I think it would be beneficial overall.

@ ultrahenk

This would give BM a new OP build to work with for starters. They would have overload plasma rain sidearm powered up by deadly aim and reflex boost. and unlike the strength build of BM none of these are blockable and the sidearm is the only thing that is deflected. Not only that but with the crazy block rate we have now they will be blocking more as well.

^ You over-calculate the power of certain combinations.

Il prove it,

If reflex, side arm, and plasma rain/ overload is OP.

Then how come,

Technician, Robot, Plasma Bolt, super charge, with the addition of a energy debuff and high deflect rate, not oped on the mages?

Its easy to claim something will be oped,

But my experience tell me most people blow these claims way out of proportion.
