Hey guys, I was thinking, perhaps we could have a Member Fact-File Thread in the OOC Section where members of these forums could share some of their likes, dislikes, background etc. if they like.

Of course, no personal information need be shared without their discretion. Username or password must not be shared.

What say?

Through discussion, the OOC already covers the things you listed without having a dedicated thread for it.
Such a thread would most likely be viewed as spam because there isn't much discussion potential in listing things you do and don't like.

In the type of thread you're suggesting, Member X may say "I like cooking" and leave it at that. Well that's nice, but this sort of hit and run posting doesn't really benefit the community much. The same Member X could start a thread on cooking, tell us why they like cooking, share a favorite recipe, and invite others to discuss their cooking experiences. Now we have something to talk about. :)

This isn't meant to be a discussion thread, Corvus.

A Format will be provided using which one can fill in his various details. For eg. Real Name, Nickname, Nationality, Ethnicity, Favourite Food, Hobbies, etc.

Again, at their own discretion.

The OOC is a place of discussion. Sharing personal information so blatantly, even at their own discretion is not going to happen. Listing threads are not negotiable. Personal information threads are not going to happen.

You can deduce a lot from someone by their posts. You will have to just take what you can get through that and be satisfied.

Since I am the head of OOC, and I am saying this will not happen, and there isn't anything anyone can use to convince me otherwise, I am locking the thread.

And Corvus was exceptionally on target, as usual. Thank you Corvus.
