i had a battle in 2 vs 2 and my partner left me 5 times in a row. I dont think its intentional but is there a way to fix it?? i mean, it really gets annoying especially you are trying to win battles. Perhaps disconnected but 5 times in a row on different partners?? Just a note, these players are not newbies but are all level 35. We are both level 35.

players have suggested ally linking.
allowing them to ally link with their own friends would reduce the chances of partners leaving by alot. (i doubt a friend would leave u on purpose)

but ED isn't willing to do that. so i think team mode is hopeless right now.

I wonder if it would be possible to implement a way to send in an npc in the case of a disconnect. Sorta like in the infernal war.

Heck best idea I have heard in a while....

Like maybe an npc just bursts through the ground and then some text appears at the top of the screen
"Doomkiller98's Ally has left the battle Mechachilid took his place!"

Or...

"Doomkiller98's Partner has left the battle! A Wild Mechachillid appeared!

That is a horrible idea IMO that can be abused big time. Especially if a person is about to die, they run and boom the NPC appears full health while the other two are weakened or close to death.

2 vs 2 is another disaster of biblical proportions. Ally link is all that is needed to fix this game.

@Mother1

Good point. Maybe the npc's health could be based on the players health before s/he disconnected?

I'm use to it too. It's just that too many of my partners either leave or they either have no weapons or I get a level 30 partner vs two lvl 35s.

I hardly get level 35 partners unless I battle with my friends going to 2v2. It cannot be one friend going into 2v2 with me otherwise he always goes to the other side and then I get a noob. It has to be 4 players playing with me, so I do not get noob partner.

I still firmly believe that you should be heavily penalized in credits and experience for leaving a 2v2 battle while still alive.
For people who bring up the "but not everybody has amazing internet" argument: Gaming is a hobby. Hobbies require money and the correct equipment. Do people take boarding hills and smooth them out because not everybody's snowboard can handle it?

They should implement a 2 battle penalty after leaving a 2v2 battle before you die, meaning for the next 2 battles you get ONLY 50% of the normal creds and xp for both wins and losses. If you happen to have a terrible connection and are lagging out every second battle then guess what, YOU SHOULDNT BE IN 2V2.

The damage they do to their partners records is less than the penalty they would receive and I would consider it a fair adjustment.

I would just say leaving a 2v2 while still alive and not because of a d/c or a "battle failed to start" message would best be solved by making a 2-loss penalty instead of a 1-loss penalty.

I think ally link would be a terrible idea to implement, and would not solve anything at all because 2 glass cannon builds together which focus all their attack on one person can be extremely difficult to deal with in 2v2, and other build combinations can be pretty much unstoppable.

If one player leaves by battle failed to start, then the other team player would leave but not gaining any loss.

How about this: When a player leaves, he gets 4 losses and a temporary credit penalty, and then everyone else gets kicked out and receives 32 credits.

@ dual thrusters

System can't tell the difference between a runner and a disconnect. So what to say someone get's disconnected (which we can tell night from day while the system can't) and he gets the penalty for this unfairly?

like someone have said somewhere above, if a player has bad connection problems and disconnecting often then they shouldn't be playing 2v2 at all, making other's gaming experience miserable.

now that i thought about it, if a player disconnects more than 4 times in an hour in 2v2 while still alive, they should not be able to participate in that mode for at least 1-2 hours.
i think it is fair, because what would be the point of 2v2 if you keep disconnecting? all you gain is losses and giving your partner a hard time.

I agree that if you have bad connection you should not ruin the experience of other players in 2vs2, but you guys suggest too hard penalty. If your partner quits /disconnects/cat jumps on his keyboard then YOU should not get a loss, nothing more.

@trizz If you add that penalty to them, less will play 2vs2, to find a 2vs2 battle will take longer, not supported

disconnects 4 times in an hour -_-, if they disconnect that much then they deserve to get a penalty, fine lets make it 5 times, I'm sure that it would not ruin 2v2, them disconnecting frequently is ruining 2v2, I'd rather wait a bit longer than to have a high chance of your partner leaving the battle resulting you with a unfair loss.

@romanu
You make no sence what so EVER.
E.g. I am trying to find a 2 v 2 and you say that there wouldn't be a penalty if you get dissconected.
In avarage i find a person in 2 v 2 in 5 seconds (15 seconds waiting time) I join the game and my partner leaves. I have an instaloss unless his partner leaves.
If we banned the runner/person who got disconected... I wouldn't have an instaloss AND the waiting time would take 20 seconds. So eather you have instaloss OR wait 5 seconds longer... Choose one.
After what you said you rather get an instaloss than having to wait 5(or less) seconds -_-.
Just really?

@epic dude, read and don't whine.
if they can't participate in that battle mode for 1-2 hours, it makes less players for 2vs2, harder to find the battles.

Instaloss? did you read when I said, You should not get a LOSS when partner quits/disconnects?

that still doesn't cut it, i want a full 2v2 battle and not those that my partner leaves for no reason, even though you don't get a loss, you still get a defeated screen and that it is still an unfair battle, it should not happen to anyone

I support ally link option in 2vs2.

I also like the disconnect penalty concept. Though I don't think that the leavers should be penalized too harshly, as it reduces the popularity of the game mode, as pointed out above. So anyway, I was thinking of a 1 minute time penalty for every disconnect. The penalized players would have to wait 1 minute before entering the match search.
