This is low priority.

I was just in battle, critiquing... praising... wondering about different features "in general" when I was using the active core called Frost Shards for the Primary weapons. The effect, though it is the active version of Frostbite: I am not concerned about that (much). What I was concerned about was the final product for the skill core's animation. I was trying as hard as I could rationalizing how icicles horizontally oriented to the ground just move from left to right or right to left and that is all. It reuses the Frostbite animation and it is a separate animation. So it makes sense that the icicles maintain at least as well of an effort as Frostbite did. I tried to patronize the product but it just was not as technical as I could expect. I do not ask for much, but just something more unique than basic object movement from sides of the screen. These same animations were used to make the lot of AdventureQuest's starting spells. I am not attacking whoever designed it, be it Nightwraith or Charfade, but I am simply highlighting an area for improvement when you have time later.

Maybe it could show a vehicle/weapon launching the icicles? Maybe it could be an airstrike consisting of a cold bomb ("dry ice bombs" have the coolest endothermic reactions that we can observe in my opinion).

If you agree (redoing Frost Shards' animation) show some support. Yes, we understand that you are within time constraints (likely due to the weekly update regime you guys at EpicDuel have going on).

Personally, I love the animation. It makes no sense, so it looks like magic!

It is the animation of one of Elite Yeti's attacks.

Actually is another kind of time constraint we are faced with... which is the time line of the animation it's self. Often we have to shorten or take away added effects to animations to make them load faster ( less lag for players ), or shorten due overage on turn time. For instance one of Davarril attacks had him walking over and striking and walking back but that was cut because it was to long on the time line. So we do what we can with that we are limited too. :|

I truly do pity your ability to work to full potential, not in mockery, but in sympathy. Now that you mention timeline limits I think that this suggestion is even LESS priority.

I do wish if ever possible, that you guys would be able to form some type of client library where you can save EpicDuel's graphics (and sound) files to for the public to download. This would allow you to design Flash drawings or animations to any magnitude. The servers would not be required to cache load or delete any of your files since we the players would contain them in a secure library that is loaded on our end on the client that we play on.

It would be awesome to see what you guys can do with more time to work with and more drawing space. Thanks for replying though Charfade.

EDIT: Charfade if you see this post you should show this link to Titan and Rab... game that uses user-sided game data

If you look into this, you will see that this Unity game (AQ3D is Unity) fully supports to great effect what I have been talking about. Just something to consider.

Downloading things break the whole thing of Artix entertainment. It's a game that requires no downloads to play... (You still download Flash Player and Unity to play)

I know that the animations make no sense at all. First, what are those things called? Gravity defying shards that attack you from the direction you're facing?

You could save time my animating only a few of those shards/icicles dropping from the sky. :/
You can do all the animations you want if you had a feature that lets you manually stop most animations. By that I mean the animations that have a lot of frames, you cut most so you get the basic ones that look like you're making contact.

I still think you need to work on your names for your NPCs as well, I can't even pronounce the Boss' name. Hopefully, there's going to be new animations with the Boss rather than the normal copied from previous NPCs. I'm happy with the Strike attack, it's the best attack ever!

Don't take this as a comment of hate but as a fact that you still have a lot of improvements to make. :)

The only possible topic that manages this issue in the acclaimed terms and conditions of Artix Entertainment is this:

quote:

a. LIMITED LICENSE.
When you use Company’s Site and Services, the online game software, including all files and images contained in or generated by the software, and accompanying data, shockwave and other digital files (collectively, “Software”), is deemed to be licensed to you by Company, during the term of this Agreement and as long as the Agreement has not been terminated, for your personal, noncommercial, home use only. Company does not transfer either the title or the intellectual property rights to the Software, and Company retains full and complete title to the Software as well as all intellectual property rights therein. You may not sell, redistribute, or reproduce the Software, nor may you decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or otherwise convert the Software to a human-perceivable form. All trademarks and logos are owned by Company or its licensors and you may not copy or use them in any manner.

Basically we are not allowed by contract to take "EpicDuel" and decompile (and potentially deobfuscate) the content for our use as some form of property. What they do not want is for us to make some kind of profit from what they offer. Clearly trying to sell Artix Entertainment art would be punishable by law and so it would be suicidal. Having it is not a problem.

I did not mention this but I implied as obvious as it would be that we do not receive the code (Flash, HTML, meta code), the client base, or the servers. Only the graphical content and such.

And remember, "no downloads required". This leaves the option to be able to load graphics from the servers OR from our computers after being downloaded without being a necessity: it will be optional. The game that I linked to, Juggernaut, also leaves it optional to download the client's running graphics. I am sure AE can make an easy exception to drastically and I mean drastically improve the quality of their cool high potential games.
