I know ALL developers fear of their game being hacked or cheated in. But are they afraid of implementing a trade system or auction house due to hackers and cheaters? Or any other specific updates for that matter. I posted here about 3 years ago in the suggestions asking about trades and a forum moderator told me that it would open up many gateways to being hacked. So if this is true for trades, is it true for a lot of updates? Does this limit our actual suggestions?

I don't believe we need to blame the developers for all the things that are happening in EpicDuel. This game is by far the safest I've ever played... (so far). :P

@ vanitysixx

People get scammed and the staff knows this big time. It has happened in the past and it is still happening so think of what would happen if they made a trade system. Any person scammed will lose all their items and have them replaced with garbage.

Then the people who get scammed will complain and ask the staff can they get their stuff back since they were scammed. Unhappy players = unhappy customers = bad for business.

Oh, but I'm not talking just about trades. I believe all gamers know the down sides of that. But I've seen some amazing suggestions that have either been rejected or unnoticed. I think the developers are taking protection a bit too seriously. Although, I am happy they're like this because I've been scammed in other games before and it does NOT feel good.

Top reasons why suggestions dont get implemented in to the game
►The suggestion is game breaking, meaning it could open up the game to exploits, hacking and general cheating by other players.
►The suggestion is illegal for us to make.
►The suggestion can not be implemented due to a limitation of flash. Not the limitation or knowledge of the ED staff.
►The suggestion is bias, only favoring a particular group or just themselves. We have to consider the entire EpicDuel community when implementing new features.
►The suggestion would take more time to implement then that we have to create it. If we really like these suggestions we usually slowly develop them in the background and go un-announced until we are sure it can be implemented. Sometimes we spend time on a new feature and have to toss it out because of a limitation of flash or breaks the game in some way, etc. It slows down progress unfortunately.
►The suggestion isn't a priority. There are some suggestions we like, but others we like better. So the better ones get suggested and pushed up to the top while it could go months or even years for the lower priority ones to be implemented.

I remember charface posting this when goldslayer1 asked why the staff overlooked the founder step down Idea and most suggestion fall under this.

^^ ;o
This is another thing that charfade said to me.

Those are just a few, but I think are the most important ones to mention. Everyone on the team puts in 100% effort. Things may not go our way all the time, we hit roadblocks and often as in every game you work on you have to problem solve constantly for a better solution. These things take an enormousness amount of time and brain power. Burn out is a thing we constantly have battle. Since the hours we put into the game isn't a simple 9-5 plan like other full time jobs with weekends and vacations off. That simply isn't in our DNA. Will work over holidays and weekends if feel we want to get ahead on the week or if a problem shows up and has to be solved.

These are not excuses of the progress of the team, just an explanation to consider.

To put it simply, yes. The developers are willing to allow the existence of scammers to prevent a widely asked for game system.

@ Xendran

And how would you suggest the staff get rid of scammers? From what you are saying it sounds like you are saying the staff can wipe out all scammers from the game but choose not too because they don't want to add a trading system.

As hacking/scamming discussions aren't allowed on the forums due to the =AE= Comprehensive Forum Rules, I'm going to lock this thread. Suggestions belong in the suggestions forum as well, not here.
