When I constantly try to suggest they make this game more difficult in terms of strategy and variety. I often get told "Remorse, don't forget this game is targeted at a younger audience"

So I was thinking, what if they split game mechanics into two, in two different severs.

Half the server can be Beginner mode, and have no level requirement.

And the other can be called Challenging mode targeted to more older or smarter players and require level 20+

Both servers would have the same content releases etc. the only difference is certain cores/robot/stat progression is limited to either server.

The beginner server will more or less be like it is currently, with game being easier in the fact you don't need to think much as anti-counter cores makes strategy relatively simple without needing to change to fit your opponent as much, as well as being more obvious and circumstantial as well as having stat progression being restrictive.

In the Challenging mode cores that impact game mechanics are all focused around making complex strategies that change with every turn.

And would involve the removal of the following cores/robots (these effects are still available on the beginner server)

-Assault bot
-All azreal item cores and robots
-The new heal reducing core and amour reducing bot.
Reason being is these effects dramatically simplify battles as they counter, counters in a seance, following a certain strategy is often hard when the opponent tries to throw you off coarse with a counter however these effects stop such counters from working, eg. if they shield your debuff it is pretty obvious to use the azreal debuff and continue on with your plans without your build being interrupted by a counter thus making it require less thought, thus should be limited to the beginner server.

Cores that would be added would effect skill directly and in strategic ways for example:

-Gun core active to fire based on DEX for damage rather then STR.
-Aux active core that activates the debuff rather then having to strike.
-Robot that automatically attacks during a turn you are stunned.
-Blood magic armour active core, allows you to change the cost of a single skill into a 50% hp cost. (if it costs 20 EP it now costs 10 HP) usable once per game.
- Many more exciting cores.

This would be a very difficult task for the devs and it may mean finding battles will be harder but it would be worth it if the player base starts to increase over time as they cater for a wider audience of players.

What do you guys think, given that this is just a basic overview, give your opinion on the concept rather then say a flaw I might of missed as this is just more of a concept suggestion.

@ remorse

this would be a good idea if we had the enough players to actually play the game. However as you can see player activity is extremely low compared to the other phases. Not to mention a new server costs money as well which could also be a problem since they work on a fix budget as well.

^ That is true mother but how do they expect their player base to increase if they don't cater for a wide age group.

Yes it may be difficult to find games at first, it may even last up to a min but if it means a good long term investment then I think it is easily worth it.

Also part of the fact their has been a decline in players, at one point all server were used on occasion.
Is due to the fact they have simplified the game mechanics so much it is boring (my opinion) in comparison to their prime.

I'm sure when a lot of the retired players who once enjoyed the game for it's challenge hear of the news then perhaps this server will already bring an initial increase in player base, and when older/smarter players enjoy the game more they are bound to stay so it will hopefully increase steadily after that as well.

@ remorse

The real problem was when they launched omega itself. They took away a lot of what the players liked while not giving all of what they promised.

The original problems that were around since alpha were never fixed while they sucked out a lot of what the players knew and loved in the process. That combination of events would surely bring a decline.

The only positive thing I saw for balance done at the start was they removed the varium advantage within stats making it easier for non variums to compete. There might have been a few others, but those have been drowned out by so many bad changes it isn't even funny.

Also before they can think about doing this idea they need to fixed the current problems that are within the game.

1 Bad match ups in 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2
2 Skills need to be balanced
3 items need to be balanced

Because even if they made this server which in all honestly sounds like epic duel alpha-beta due to what is being removed the original problems that here will still exist on this server thus scaling away new players.

^ Omega did remove enhancements as well, which was great.

In fact they were pretty dam close to amazing balance and mechanics if they didn't wreck hp/ep scaling and started adding broken promo packages, cores and robots.

They can easily fix omega if they did the following,

1. listened to the players
2. Stopped introducing broken cores/robots in the form of overpriced promos
3. Increased hp/ep scaling
4. Stopped trying to make classes similar by giving them each their own energy drain and regain and return that to a more balanced state as say how it was in gamma in terms of energy manipulater skills per class.

But that would not fix the problem of the boring game mechanics due to the damage of the cores/robots being too hard to reverse however this server would.

All in all I agree mother, I don't think they will have the capacity to introduce this server at the current state, I am stating it never the less more as a hope.

Because it breaks me that this game has died so much in my eyes hence the often sad rants on the forums from me trying to fix it.

Not supported. This is discrimination and segregation of players.

@ Pemberton

Could you please explain how this discriminates and segregate's players?

All I see here is Remorse asking the staff to make a server that played like Beta did (meaning no effect promo's or robots)

due to how the database work this is like rebuilding the game from the first stone.

because everything done is good or bad to someone that's why ppl left.
when omega removed a lot of varium advantage a lot of varium players left because "they can't infinitily win because of their money" , this hurt the game more than it helped because the game is nolonger well-funded so the game is running low and soon gonna close down due to it not bringing much profit.

other games are self funded by things like ballyhoo and monthly memberships.

lastly we don't need mods to listen in order to make the game better but we want them to discuss.

stop introducing broken cores will make it worse since alot of ppl buy them for their advantage even if it's a very durational limited advantage so this isn't that good for game.

this game had nearly been destroyed and is going down soon unless it's brough back to delta where its profits will go back up again.

@ Pemberton,

It is not segregation and discrimination because people can freely switch between server to their hearts content. (once people have reached the level requirement whcih makes it serve as a tutorial server as well.)

In the long run the game splitting will also allow for almost completely different game styles anything new to do with game mechanics can be split and basically if you get sick of one style of game mechanics you can try the other.

Also players will still have the same win/loss from each server so people can find which server they are better at in terms of what let them wins the easiest and stick with that since a lot of people have the opinion, winning is what makes the game fun (not my opinion).

@ Mother1

The challenging server can also have cores and robots as well however they will be much less focused on making main strategies easier rather merely opening up opportunities for niche builds as in none of the challenge server robots or cores should have anything so powerful it is useful for many builds, it should all be more catering preemptively to niche possibilities, as well as have very little effect on available counters, as in you can't reduce shields etc.

The reason being yes beta was fun because the game mechanics were fun, and not all robots and cores over the later phases wrecked betas game mechanic style only a select few did, plus robot damage might need to have a different way of being calculated.

@DarkDevil

It wouldn't be that hard really, merely change a few game mechanic factors such as stat progression and hp/ep scaling as well as limiting certain robots and cores to the beginner server by simply adding a requirement of "Required beginner server" requirements aren't exactly new code so it shouldn't take that long.

As for promos having major impact, well they sure can just not on the challenge server where variety needs to be open and certain promo cores and robots tend to limit variety by making some builds too effective therefore others cannot compete.

The changes they need to make usually only take a week theoretically, however the actual building of the split server will take a bit longer.

Also can you please stop ranting off topic about wanting varium to have power in battles, it is your opinion that is why people left and certainly not mine.
