Under settings, you will get to choose which levels within your level range (like +/- 5 in 1V1) that you want to play in. You can play in:

only the lowest levels and wait longer,

people at your own level and wait longer,

or keep the level range at default and fight everyone as usual. Etc.

I don't think that waiting longer to challenge players with 5 levels lower is going to accomplish anything. Same with facing someone 5 levels higher than you, the person isn't going to select this. It's common sense, players don't want to challenge others higher in level. The current system is better (IMO) than this.

That is what the "system" will be. It stays the same but gives the option to change the levels drawn for random opponents.

Because no one will want to fight a higher leveled enemy meaning they will have the highest wait time to find any fights

I'm pretty sure the higher levelled players will just battle against players who are below 4-5 levels to have a better win ratio. Plus when nearly everyone does this, how long do you think we all have to wait for a battle? If a Level 40 player always wishes to battle Level 35s, and Level 35s always wish to battle Level 30s, how long do I have to wait? Knowing that only a few players are willing to challenge higher levelled players, is it going to be a <30 second wait or 10 minutes?

Scyze is right, and there would be no need for an option button if the level ranges were fair to begin with. There is no point to a fight with a 6 level difference, it's not fun. And don't anyone tell me the argument where people might quit if they had to wait longer for battles, when THEY ALREADY ARE QUITTING due to imbalanced battles.

I do not know if that is the full story (I do not read minds), but that is not the point of this balance suggestion. It is the option to choose lower and/or higher, which might lead to something like this:

:Player at LVL 30
:Level range selection = 25
:1V1 battle
:Waits 15 seconds
:No response from server, aborted
:Adds 26, 27, 28, and 29 to selection
:1V1 battle
:Waits 15 seconds
:No response again, aborted
:Adds 30 to selection
:1V1 battle
:Waits 15 seconds
:No response again, aborted
:Adds 31 to selection
:1V1 battle
:1V1 battle with LVL 31

And so, people can tune their level settings until they battle with players that are closer to their preferred matchups. Some may have the resources to fight people up to 5 levels higher, others will want to grind on the weakest. Ultimately, people may want to change their settings back to the default if the purpose was not served. No harm done.

Don't support this since if this went into play if there was no one at your level and you didn't change the ranges you wouldn't get any fights.

I would support being able to change the range, like in 2v2 the range is 6, so we could make the range lower not higher. For example, changing the range from 6 to 4 (same thing for 1v1, except 5 or lower). And if maybe 15-30 seconds passed, the game would give us the option to exit the battle screen or widen our preferences.

Not supported, this makes no sense. Of course players will choose the easy win over the sure loss.
