Personally I think they should scrap the current idea which is essentially leveling up without changing your level, mainly because it is bad for balance and level gaps but also because it doesn't provide a worthy competative incentive to what a max level should.



I think similar to league of legends, once you reach max level you fight ranked were you are placed into a ranking system and move up and down according to if you defeat those in an above rank or lose to those in a lower rank.

Because their is a low player base in ED the system would have to be made very broad.

Here is an example of how a similar system could fit ED:


When you reach lvl 40 you are placed into an unranked testing phase where matchs against other 40s are noted and after 100 or so battles you are placed into a rank of ethier bronze, silver, gold.

In those ranks you move up or down by winning or losing a number of battles against other level 40s losing to people in a lower rank has a more significant impact as well as beating people in higher ranks, versing other levels other then 40 are not included.

If you become one of the top 20 level 40 players in the game you enter a highly competitive challenge rank were every battle changes your placement in the top 20 and if you are kicked out you go back to gold.

Being inactive will slowly degrade your rank over time.

This is just a rough idea of how the ranking system could work.

The Exile Arena should be where EpicDuel Legends fight each other with legendary ranks.

In regular 1v1, you should still be able to gain EXP for legendary ranks, but without legendary points actually taking effect.
In the arena, you will fight only Legendary players, and legendary ranks will apply. This would come with it's own Legends leaderboard.

Supported.

Even if the advantage of ranks is small there shouldn't be anymore advantage that legendary players have then normal levels. With this idea it would make game play more balanced, and lower levels would not become bigger punching bags to those hardcore players with 20+ ranks.

I love the idea of using the arena.

Perhaps in the arena chalenges between level 40s count as normal battles however you can only verse the same person once or twice per day to prevent abuse.

Perhaps it would become a popular place for ranked battles and perhaps give arena bonus which could be double rank gain and rewards but also double loses and risk.

Perhaps the arena could also allow small credit wagers were the two challengers can increase the reward by adding a small wager but if they lose they pay the wage in credits and ranking.

The gambing idea I doubt the staff will let fly. Especially since this is suppose to be a kid friendly game, and Gambling is something adults would normally do.

^Do they not have a far worse version called the arcade? Hec the whole thing is a slot machine no diffrent from real life.

Worse because you can buy tokens with varium.

Surely small credit wagers wouldn't be that bad just make some sort of risk and gain reward I'm sure competitive players will appreciate.
I feel arena battles will lack oomf without some sort of risk or higher rewards.

As long as it remains credits I doubt it will ever be a problem.

Here are two meanings of gambling

With the current arcade, you are playing a game however you aren't taking a risky action for the hope of a desired result which in this case would be winning because you win every time with the arcade, and you aren't playing for money in the arcade either.

However with your idea

Both players are putting up game currency (credits) and are battling each other for the chance to win their opponents credits along with theirs.

This right here is playing a game of chance of a form of money since there is no 100% way you can grantee you will win a duel, and every duel even without this is a game of risk where you hope to win just without putting any form of money on it.

Mother it is clear gambling you can pretent to side step the truth if you want but it is pretty obvious to me.

If you already have some junk items then are you not hoping to not get it again? Is it not a risk that you may get the same item?
Is it not a risk that you may get junk in your eyes? Are we not hoping for a major prize but risk not getting it?

Their are plenty styles of gambling and often they give the illusion you cannot lose by giving out junk but tempt with the major prizes, it is the same here.

What makes it far worse is tockens can be bought with varium tempting younger audiences to get sucked into the gambling in hope, for example an exclusive major prize which in some cases IS credit FOR REAL MONEY!

But after all this I don't care it's not my problem if they want gambling systems or not in their game, bit enethical but not my problem,
The point is small credit wagers seem as harmless as a butterfly compared to the gambling system they have in place now.

Arcade is not even video game gambling, it's REAL gambling, because the easiest way to participate in it is with real money (Varium).
