Right now investing into one stat is better than investing into multiple. To fix this, have penalties for whenever its does. Whenever you have 50% or more of stats into 1 the opposite stat is affected. So if you have 100 dex at lvl 25, you take 30% more damage on energy attacks( maybe more).

This would just turn everyone into focus builds so they can avoid the penalty for this.

So everyone would invest 20( or however many points) in each stat. 50% is 63 points into one stat at lvl 40. The biggest impact would be to those below 30. How many people would just put 1 point less to avoid it. It could be made more, maybe 60% or less and the damage thing was just an example.

you would be surprised at how many people would do something like that to avoid penalties. It was the same thing when they had enhancements. People would push their stats up to the limit then use their enhancements to power it up further without getting penalized for it.

Plus using a broken concept to band-aid fix something that is broken will not create a solution only restrict more players into using builds they don't want to use. here is an example.

Right now TM has 3 effective builds to get wins.

Caster builds
Strength builds
Focus build

With your suggestion

Casters and Strength builds would get nerfed leaving focus the only effective build to use without penalty. Then when everyone flocks over to focus builds the complaints will come again then focus will eventually take another nerf due to the other builds getting a nerf.

How about instead of putting a band aid fix that wasn't a good one to begin with back into play we fix the core problem so all builds can work correctly and fairly?

Something needs to be done though. What about a build rater? Where it looks at your stats, skill tree, plus weapons and gives you boosts/penalties based on it.

It's better to balance the weapons and skills than to weaken specific players because of equipment they use. Plus, that idea resembles agility, only at a far greater scale.

Its nothing like agility. Its based on the player's abilities. Weapons is about upgrading, stats and skill tree is about how effectively you use it( like making synergy with tech with BH or something of that nature).
