What are the weapon types that you think best fits each class?

Originals (staves, clubs, blades) or Swords ?

Which element type do you prefer for its weapons?

Primary: E / P
Sidearm: E / P
Auxiliary: E / P
Robot: E / P

Preferably, reasons?

For me,

BMs - Swords
Why? Fireball and Overload aren't as beneficial as stat & damage bonuses.

TLMs, Mercs, TMs should use original weapons.
Why? Their energy taking skills require them.

BHs and CHs can use both
Why? It depends whether or not Venom Strike is being invested in.

For weapon types, simply IMO, it doesn't really matters, since shields not only takes up the decreased def/resis but also adds some more.

Personally I use E, P, P / P, E, E for primary, sidearm, and auxiliary.

For Robots, the ideal one is the Gamma Bot, tho it's a perma-rare already.

BM is the only class that really has no use for a class-specific weapon, in my opinion. As far as it goes right now, the caster skills on BM are inefficient and don't synergize well with Energy Parasite. Tech Mages would make better use out of a staff for the requirement of Assimilation and they can actually do well with caster skills with independent energy regeneration, drain/gain as well as generator/piston if they have it. Mercs can do ok with a sword but it's a lot more useful to have Static Smash when you need it. Having a club on a TLM for Atom can be useful but it isn't very necessary, using atom can actually cost you a win in certain situations. And finally for BHs and CHs, it really goes either way. BHs don't really have any use for claws besides Poison (Mass+Static=No), which is quite overpowered at low ranges, but as the levels go higher poison builds get a lot easier to counter so I would use a sword if I was one. CHs can make good use out of claws, mostly with the Glass Cannon Str/Mass/Poison build, but sword builds are more reliable and have a much higher win rate (in my experience I easily defeated every glass cannon CH I fought but had to try a lot harder vs. sword ch's.)

For your last question, I use an energy primary, energy gun, physical aux and physical robot. I like to have an energy unblockable in case I'm fighting a Dex Mage or something, and finding physical damage isn't much of a problem with bludgeon, meteor, aux as well as my bot in an emergency lol.

 Your damage types are entirely dependent on your skill cores and build. You can pretty much assort them in any order except for like all 3 equipment (excluding robots) being the same damage type. i personally like going E, P, E, and then physical robot on my BM build, because bludgeon and meteor shower do more than enough to cover for a lack of available physical damage, and your auxiliary and primary both provide solid energy damage. Basically, any combo is viable except for 3 physical or 3 energy weapons.

I run a sword on my tech mage with high strength and either bludgeon or malfunction. It works great because it doesn't rely on energy.

 @Pemberton: I think it's more like some classes absolutely cannot use a sword because they need their class-specific primary instead to use certain skills, namely energy-oriented ones.

How is that a balance issue? Classes are suppose to be different not the same. The fact that some classes can use swords better than others is actually a good thing seeing as it is something that set them apart.

Classes as I stated before are suppose to perform differently that is the whole point of having classes. If every class performed the same with everything they wouldn't be classes now would they?

That's true but aren't classes supposed to perform differently skills wise?
When was the last time you saw an experienced BM wielding a staff? With swords being the only weapon they're guaranteed for extra stats

Also remember classes have different stats as well. No one class has the same base stats for the sake of them being different.

Also look at BM itself. Blood mage is while it can do a caster build was never meant to be an energy class to begin with. It is suppose to be the battle melee version of TM so of course a sword would work better with them than a staff.

Your "class is supposed to be" argument is terrible...classes are supposed to have variety but you're assuming BM should be a "battle melee TM with sword" wtf...

Add up the base stats and they're about the same.

Also whether BM should be a caster or a Str class doesn't depend on you. The most ideal situation is that the player has similar appeals to use original weapons or swords. Btw, BMs use swords because of Skills requirements (only fireball and overload needs staves) not because of the relationship with TMs. Besides they have no relationship at all, except for its character figure.

I can also point out classes aren't suppose to be the same either which is what it seems like you are trying to say. I am saying classes are suppose to be different where they excel in one area (AKA melee attacks) and lack in another (AKA casting)

Kind of like before the change Tactical merc were the best tanking classes, but they weren't the best at pure offense. That was the point I am trying to make.

Sure all classes can try all builds. However they shouldn't be able to perform in an area as well as another class that specializes in that area.

 You are confusing your opinion/preference as fact...Swords give extra stats and damage but should also restrict the class
from using a key important skill but only Merc and TechMage are affected by this.

All classes lose something for using swords

You can't use your ultimate with a sword no matter what the class.

Mages both blood and Tech mage can't use their stun moves with a sword

Bounty and Cyber hunter can't use venom strike or cheap shot with their words

The Merc classes can't use their energy drainers with swords

So in other words every class has something taken away from them when a sword is given. That is the price that is paid like it or not.

Also it is fact that all classes are suppose to excel in some areas, yet lack in others. If all classes performed the same in all area then they wouldn't be classes now would they?

The game has turned into the movie The Giver. No ones different... Passives taken from classes is whats wrong.

My favorite mode was delta why? We had 6 classes to enjoy. Everyone had passives that made the class different. Enchantments were around. Battle tokens were around. NPCs in battle was around.
A start to making the game fun again is Passives returns until that is done im afraid the population will remain at a all time low. Ever heard of a movie called the giver? well thats what the game has turned into the movie the giver. We arent meant to be clones of one another we should sand out from one another classs wise.
This is comeing from a player thats been around since beta
