Surgical Strike does not have a weapon requirement, and so I think massacre and supercharge shouldn't also. This seems completely fair because Mercs need a club to take mp, Mages need a staff to take MP, and Bounty Hunters take a really small amount of mp. No class will prevail over the other, this will only allow some fun and diversity.

If you are wondering about how you can use Massacre with a sword then it would be like the ChickenCow move in Dragonfable (with the Chicken Cow Class equipped) where your player attacks 12 times.

I disagree, I actually think surgical strike should have a weapon requirement. Those moves are that classes super attack and as such should be limited to class-only weapons.

But you call in SS with a Walkie-Talkie of some sort, all the other claases use their weapons

Maybe Mercs could sort of run in with a sort of target marker and hammer it into the ground in front of the enemy then call the satellite strike in on the Walkie-talkie?

Merc and Tactical merc are already locked into club builds due to their energy drainers having a club requirement. Doing this just so all ultimate's will be the same will only destroy diversity more.

Surgical strike unlike Supercharge and Massacre doesn't have anything to help the skill do more damage outside of buffs and debuffs. With Supercharge you have resistance ignoring effect, and Massacre has the damage boost that comes with all melee strength skills. Surgical strike has none of this.

So unless you are really spamming tech and have this skill leveled up high it doesn't do massive damage. So having it with a sword in this case helps to compensate for this.

@GearzHeadz..... That is the best idea I have ever heard in my life and I greatly support that.

@Mother1- Surgical Strike has one of the greatest effects though, it cuts your rage in half and grants lifesteal. That's massive and game changing unlike Supercharge or Massacre. If Mages and Bounty Hunters can use Supercharge and Massacre with a sword it will only boost their damage by a little bit, not much when you really think about it. Everyone has the same attacks and effects, just a tad bit more damage.

That is assuming that you can get the move off. Also let's not forget that Merc's diversity is pretty much in the crapper. Why because not only is their energy drainer/gainer locked to a club requirement, but so is their stun move.

Changing Surgical strike to work with a club not only doesn't make sense (since you don't need a club to work a walkie talkie) but would also restrict diversity more. Even with the rage reducing effect of the move and life steal you are still going against 100% of all defenses without a damage booster unlike the other two.

As it is now only Tech mage is has their ultimate stun move and energy drainer locked to a class weapon. Lucky for them they still have battery backup to get back energy if they choose to use a sword. While Tactical merc has battery as well and wouldn't be hurting as much if surgical strike needed a club Mercenary however doesn't have such a luxury. Sword Merc is already at a major disadvantage as it is due to the way balance is. This change would make it even worse.

I guess I see where you are coming from. I forgot that tech mages had 2 mp regen moves, one of which is stronger than the other and can be accessed with a sword. Thanks for the discussion! This will probably be a bad idea then. However I still support GEarzHeadz idea of mercs smashing an enemy with their club that gets massively powered by Surgical.

well I like this, I agree but what to do about weapons requirements in all classes ?

Thank you Oswald! Some skills need a weapon requirement, like cheap shot or the bh poison, or Maul, or even assimilation though
