Before we start I wanted to say two major things. First, this suggestion is not meant to be taken seriously it is just a fun challenge I set for myself and after all this work I saw no reason not to get some feedback from the community. Second, there is no TL;DR get over it. On a minor note all of the information I am using to craft this is from the =ED= The Storyline topic and the EpicDuel Wiki, I have no insider information just knowledge of where to find public source information you may have overlooked.

Setup: Alydriah Descarl is now a prisoner of the Exile forces after the loss of Fortune City and Frysteland and will remain one until the Legion wins the map in which Descarl is being held. With Descarl gone both sides have heard rumors of a large store of Varium in the base of the Fortune City tower, the last of the bounty that was the Jumerna Varium Ring. Both sides want the Varium to fund their war machine and to keep as much as possible out of their enemies’ hands.

War Mechanics: The war will include two stages and like all previous wars there will be a pause between stages to allow both sides to finish before moving on to the second stage. Unlike every other war there will still be the Dread War 2.0 going on so the winning side gets an advantage in the Dread War 2.0.

The first stage is the breach stage. Each side will be faced with a blast door, similar to the Delta Vault, with 5 million health. Based on the Frysteland part of the Dread War 2.0 that should be seven days of fighting or less if people actually get involved. The blast door will have a good mix of Energy and Physical attacks to detour tanks and a mild defense/resistance to allow people to throw up solid damage in a single fight. PvP will have a chance to drop one of two single use cores so buying a new weapon may be a choice players have to make. The first core is a burst damage auxiliary attack to try and maximize damage with minimal turns. The second core will dampen the doors attacks as a passive armor to increase the length of the battle and your damage output.

The second stage is supposed to be something new yet possible impossible for the EpicDuel engine but Artix Entertainment has shown a love of pushing the bounds with its technology. Now the second stage will be a race to power the room’s defenses. Unfortunately the room is powered by the very thing both sides are after, Varium. The good news is Varium is a living metal that grows with heat so busting off chucks promotes the growth of Varium. Each side will battle the defenses of the room and in the chaos of each fight some Varium will break off, either a small fragment or a large slab. Now these pieces of Varium will be feed to the room’s defense system which will incrementally increase the power of the other room’s defenses until you have forced the enemy out. The value of the pieces will reflect current war supplies and every 1.5 million points (roughly two days of gameplay) the defenses will increase in power.

Warning this paragraph is where things could start to break away from the possible. The defense will randomly select an NPC to mimic every time you challenge it. The level range of the selection will depend on the power level your room is at. The first stage is 1-5, second is 6-10, third is 11-15, etc. Now you are saying, “Angel I’m really tired of the NPC can’t you make this more fun for me.” Yes I can reader. The other way to help is to get drops from PvP, they will be less frequent than the direct support drops but hey plenty of people have Varium so why not have a chance for random Varium drops from PvP. The alternate to this which is really pushing what may be possible is if you go into battle with pieces in your inventory you stand a risk of losing one every time you lose but stand to gain one when you win.

Now the smart reader has realized we have eight levels of fighting which should be roughly two weeks of war and that could get to be a bit of a drag so feel free to comment a tweak of numbers or mechanics to help drop that value. Also with the massive influx of Jumerna grade Varium its value has dropped to dirt so don’t expect to save any Varium to buy new shiny things with.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of cores that help you in certain boss battles and only take up space after said event, making the item useless.

I'm not a fan of them either but I saw it as an opening of if you want to pay money and get your edge fine but chances are normal cores would do just as well if not better than war specific cores
