I figured it would be ok to throw out some of my more unusual weird concepts here and ask for basic thoughts and stuff that may help get around some problems I have with it. Besides, I also think better while I'm typing, so yeah.... ----------- First idea: Undead with Dice-powers This is probably one of my dumber concepts, but it could be fun to mess around with. Basically, I want to make an undead that is sort-of a hybrid knight-gentleman with an obsession with puns and dice-based magic as his weapon. A lot of his abilities will hopefully be based around trying to hit the enemy with fast moving dice and then using a random number generator to decide what side they land on after making contact with the opponent. This will add to a counter that will automatically hit the enemy with some effect when their counter gets to 21. Here's my problem, though.... I have no idea what that should be. Obviously I can't go for instant death, but it's still one of those things that is kind-of hard to get to. So maybe just an elemental blast from them or something? IDK, any ideas would be appreciated. Potential Abilities: Three dice shot- Forms 3 dice and mentally sends them at the enemy in quick succession. Ground conversion- Turns the ground around the user in a 10 foot radius into a large circle of dice. These can be shot at the enemy or used for more advanced techniques. Pillar- Creates a pillar of dice that provides easy ammo to launch at the enemy. Blade?- Only usable if there is a nearby pillar of dice. They connect as if all one solid surface and can be used like a blunt sword to parry enemy attacks. Has no other special effects. Wall- Only available once the ground is covered in dice. Raises a wall of dice that can block attacks as if it was a solid surface. Can also be used for ammo. Self cubed- Only available if the ground is covered in dice and the user is next to a wall of dice. Creates a defensive cube of dice around the user that, in itself, turns into a giant die. Can be launched at the enemy just like any other die, but with the added benefit of blunt force trauma! Six dice shot- Launches 6 dice at the enemy in rapid succession! The dice must come from another ability first. Vortex- Conditions have not yet been decided. Creates a tornado of dice that has no effect other than re-directing ranged attacks and spreading dice everywhere. Wave- Shoots a wave of energy along dice-covered ground, knocking over anyone caught by the attack. Tower- Only available if the ground is covered in dice. Creates a tower 3-by-3 dice wide and an undetermined number of dice high that acts like one solid structure to raise the user out of his enemy's range. The tower can be collapsed by shooting dice out from it. ----------- Second idea: Overly-prepared fighter I basically had an idea for a character who has no magic or special skills, but they're based around the concept that I want a strategic character who could be prepared for anything under the sun. So the character would fall apart on principle if there was a situation they had no way to deal with. Here's what I was thinking for them so far. Items: Holy water- Good vs. demons, vampires, maybe undead, etc. Cross- Able to keep vampires and other unholy creatures at bay without being close. Highly filtered fabric- An object that goes over the user's mouth that filters out airborne poisons and toxins. Water breathing potions- In case the user has to fight a water mage who could attempt to drown them. Silver Scimitar- Good against werewolves. Dragonbane rapier- Made using all the dragonbane the user could get a hold of. It may not be that strong, but the dragonbane is able to get through a tough dragon's scales with ease and poisons them. Antimagic ice charm- An object that heavily resists most magic and completely blocks all fire based magic. Toadzard gland bombs- Hand thrown bombs that spread a stinky scent made from a mixture involving Toadzard glands. Strong enough to repel most natural monsters. Bow and arrows- Good at countering people who try to fight up close. .............. Yeah, that's all I can think of right now. I'm open to any other suggestions for his arsenal! -------------- Third idea: Curse-based character This character is going to be more of a dirty fighter than anything else. Basically, I want something to be based on disabling the enemy and generally messing them up. But the kicker is that it will be up to the other player to decide what effect they're going to deal with every time they get hit with the curse technique. I'm thinking the curses will come in the form of a gas attack that takes effect if the enemy is contacted by it, but I feel like that alone might not be enough to make the character able to hold their own. So I want to know if I should have another way to inflict curses and if the potential curses the other player can choose from would be ok or if there needs to be changes to them in some way. Each effect only works until the fight ends at least with the other player deciding if they want to keep it going after that and, if so, for how long their character will be effected. Potential effects: One limb is paralyzed and cannot be moved Enemy turns into a toad All magic and enchantments no longer work, instantly kills any beings who are maintained by magical means Enemy moves much slower Inflicts blindness The enemy becomes sick and quickly exhausted Instantly puts the enemy to sleep, they cannot awaken until the one who inflicts the curse leaves or one hour passes Enemy becomes dizzy, any sudden movements may force them to fall over Any pain is highly magnified Inflicts lethal poison, will kill within an hour unless the enemy can escape Forces enemy to temporarily go insane, cannot rationalize and may attack blindly Enemy will be forced onto their knees by crippling heart pain every third post All strength leaves them, enemy cannot wield anything heavier than a rapier one-handed and armor weighs them down
