I quitted epicduel when they release the huge patch ( change lots of thing about skill tree, weapon cores etc... ). Pre that patch, epicduel server usually full ( they have 4 server and the first 2 are full ). Now server is about 200~400 ppl ( huge decrease ). And i don't know what reason to buy varium anymore ( i have 3 account and have ~1k varium left ), everything is able to buy with credits ( old patch they separate varium player and credits player ).

2 main reasons I think:

1. shortcuts giant credit expense
2. If you want a promo on its release and don't feel like waiting a year.

Besides what Exploding Penguin mentioned there is also those people who pay for Varium to get those varium cheevo's as well as give out codes to the masses.
