At level 40 swords grant a bonus of 10 damage and 5 stat points. On the other side some skills are locked to them. But its possible to make strong sword builds that do not need those skills which is then a problem for balance. As example a TM strenght build which does not need any skills at all that have a staff requirement but does receive the sword bonus when using one. Skills with a "class primary weapon" requirement: Tech Mage-... : Overload, Super Charge, Plasma Bolt Blood Mage... : Overload, Super Charge, Fireball Bounty Hunter: Cheap Shot, Massacre, Venom Strike Cyber Hunter-: Cheap Shot, Massacre, Venom Strike Mercenary--.. : Double Strike, Maul, Berzerker Tactical Merc..: Double Strike, Atom Smasher Color legend: blue = Technology violet = Dexterity red = Strenght green = Support black = none As you also can see in the overview is, that none of those skills does improve with dexterity which does mean that dexterity builds can abuse swords too. Its weird that Surgical Strike is the only ultimate skill that does not require a class primary weapon. Builds and classes that benefit from swords: - TM, BM, TLM strenght build - Merc, TLM support build - Merc, TLM tech build - Dexterity build (all classes) - Tank build (all classes) - BH, CH, Merc, TLM 5 focus - CH tech build Builds and classes that suffer from swords: - TM, BM tech build - TM support build - TM 5 focus - BH, CH, Mercenary strenght build As you maybe can see the bonus on swords is a serious reason for alot of the balance problems. Suggestion: 1. Swords should be more related to strenght builds and should only have the damage bonus of 10 points. Above 85 strenght this is a bonus equal to 8 stat points in strenght. From 55 to 85 strenght its a bonus equal to 6 stat points in strenght. 2. Class primary weapons are actually to weak and should receive the 5 point stat bonus that actually swords have. 3. Remove the weapon requirements from all skills.
