IIRC, tokens were removed because they were deemed useless and pointless by the devs (correct me if im wrong) which in my opinion, they weren't useless. Collecting tokens was one of the reasons I enjoyed winning. Now again, in my opinion, fame is pointless. Im pretty sure it isn't being used the way it was intended, people just go around saying "f4f" all day. If fame is important enough to keep in game then tokens should be reconsidered.

 Tokens were removed as part of the shift from the flag-based faction system to the current war system. Removing fame at this point will cause more harm than good because it has become entrenched as a status symbol/ necessity for the relevant achievements.

Remove fame, the last days of ED might actually have some conversation at the hangout area's instead of fame begging. Achievements do nothing anyways, i'd much rather lose a few useless achievements in order to cure this fame crisis.

It should have been removed a week after it was implemented, but now it is far too late.

TO be honest the moment people started hacking fame during gifting last year should have been the time they removed it from the game.

It' original purpose If I remember correctly was to used to promote the game over social media.

However you can't even do that anymore due to fame being made an in game thing due fame hacking.

^That is correct. But after a week or two, the devs somehow managed to get that under control.

I wonder if that fix got reverted (or somehow became obsolete) during the time Mother1 mentioned.

Fame is annoying and pointless to be honest. Tokens and the old war system would be better to be back. It encouraged players to play more and gain tokens to take faction flags competitively.

 I think the most disgusting part about fame is that people actually CARE about getting lots of fame. Why would anyone care about accumulating points that don't even translate to fame, they actually just translate into "degree of begging"?

Aside from the most well-known players of ED anybody else who has really high fame can pretty much just be labeled as someone who spends way too much time asking/begging for fame.

At this point it's what the whole community (myself included obviously) uses as fire to flame other people who set out to ruin a system which was supposed to be a nice little thing to encourage other players. I remember playing a game only a few weeks ago and I had a really good match and conversation with some other guy, and near the end he famed me and I famed him back. THAT'S the kind of way fame should be utilized, not the way the scum-of-the-earth playerbase is using it for now which is just begging for leaderboard slots and cheevos.

fame was never under control 8x xD lol i mean remember in delta when all the sudden some few 4 - 5 Brazilians from same faction ( lords eddye ) climbed to all time leaderboreds when no one even noticed they getting fames ? i remember so cause they pushed me from 4th in all time to 10th in 1 day lol i got frustrated and quit fame when i had about 14 k on my .Dark Funeral. ) account if u remember it .

After a week or two? I think someone has their history cuckoo it was more like a year or two, people were using ip changers to hack fames all the way until they changed the forma.

I wouldn't know about that, I just know that for a while anyone could "hack" fame by using an ip hiding program and later devs somehow managed to prevent it.

I know this much because I'm pretty sure I tested it and reported it. But, I have no idea what has been going on with fame later because I never cared about fame. Or I guess I should call it "fame" or clicks...

^ dude , ill talk so u would understand well , early early days of delta i was 4th in fame after comical , fay beee , zeal overlord , me .... then all the sudden sr.eddy , sr.renato , sonofpromise , helpmgod and some others passed me out of no where in weeks , appearing everyday on leader boards with 200 - 300 + fame , 2 hours before reset . and kept on hacking fame using ip changer till new fame formula has been released . hacking fame on character page has been never stopped until they change formula .

See this? This was me saying that I am not familiar with the situation you were describing (Which means that I understood what you said the first time and that I don't need you to describe it again...). All I said was, that IP hiding worked for a while and then it didn't anymore. If it started working again some time in the future, I do not know, nor do I care.

Off topic: I am going to stop responding to your posts on this forum. I won't explain why, because there is no nice way of saying it.

The cheevo's are why we have people going for high amounts of fame.

I grantee you if you made the fame cheevo rare, and removed the alltime/daily LB fame would die faster than an unprotected person in the vacuum of space.

But yeah I can see some of your points though it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it does you.

Shadow bane has a point because even before the gifting thing there was an incident where some people were gaining massive amounts a fame (500-800) Daily and quite a few of them were retired players.
