If this is not a succes on PC, it will surely be on mobile. There are not many games like this on that platform so it was a good idea to make it crossplatform, but if I play it I will play it for PC that's for sure. What do you guys think?Seriously now wish you all the best with this project everything is preety good now just the
Kickstarter is slowing down a bit but not too bad.I really have respect for this company keeping all their games alive for their fans while others will shut them down, even when there are some problems with staff I still apreciate you guys....well we can fix these someday...Bye

a lot of the players on this forum have really good ideas.
as long as they listen to us the game will do fine and they'll also get an idea of what we want on future releases.

win/win.

It's not going to be a success on mobile. Its only chance is to succeed on tablets and PCs.

The competition for 3D MMOs on mobile - both Android and iOS - is fierce. There are already games on mobile that are more sophisticated than AQ3D will be.

Claiming that it'll be a success on mobile is a stretch. It might survive on mobile, but it definitely won't be able to eliminate the competition.

I've been playing MMOs on mobile for a few years now, so trust me on this. I know what the competition is like.

Just, whatever you do, don't try to play it with the Samsung Galaxy line. Very, very few games ever work on that line without there being 20x more problems than on other mobile devices.

Umm tablets are mobile you smart one.Honestly I haven't seen many mmos on mobile that got my attention, most are kinda the same. Also don't forget that mobiles and computers will have the same servers or so I understood.

I was referring to smartphones, and technically not all tablets are mobile if you're referring to OSs.

Tablets are like a grey area. AQ3D will most likely be compatible for tablets in ways that many mobile games and PC games aren't.

Well I think it can work out.Anyway seems the graphics could age well since they look more like artstyle but the skills and the fact "that it's a mobile app" might turn people off. Also check out some 3d monsters made by Dage posted on twitter, they look freaking amazing.

You have to realize that while the graphics aren't that great to begin with, many smartphones will require the graphics to be even lower to run any areas at all. If they don't allow the option for full-on loqua mode, they're gonna have problems getting enough mobile users.

Conversely, there are no longer any PCs that require browser-based gaming with that low quality, so I sincerely hope they have options for full-on hiqua too.

Hiqua? Sorry for my lack of Knowledge but what does Hiqua mean?Oh wait nvm I'm stupid. It means high quality.Anyway in my opinion just the artstyle looks good enough, you don't need advanced textures for something to look good, it can just look cartoony. For now nothing is so bad but everything can be improved. Hope there will be a skill set this time.Also. .we don't know how they even optimised the game.So you can not know what is needed and what is not needed for mobile, I'm sure they are testing it first.

I dunno, I asked Cy once, he said 4 skills was chosen "because more wouldn't FIT on the mobile screen" which is a pretty weak excuse imo.

@LyRein

Their reasons for less skills:

1. Fit's on mobile screen better (same limitations as w/ graphics)

2. Less animations to make (they only have 1 animator soo they wanna get more material in [so it's sacrificing engine for quantity and maybe quality {of releases}])

3. Like I said above, they will get in faster releases so players that are okay with the engine as it is won't get bored (more releases!!!)

Really that's all I remember from asking Artix, Korin, and Cysero

I'm ok with just four skills.

More, as has been pointed out, would not fit comfortably on an iphone screen, for example. I'd be impressed if the entire thing as it is now does fit comfortably.

@speedmeteor101

i'd rather they'd take their time with releases than find ways to make it go faster.
because AQW is not doing well and AE is obviously going to be following a lot of AQW's choices because of it's past success.

sadly it doesn't work in the long run.

I would have been satisfied if it was at least ten skills. Mainly, AQW had the four skills memo and personally, I don't think it worked out. New classes yadda yadda kept releasing and it just got dull after a while. And umm, doesn't fit on the screen...? Don't games like these often have a toggle that flips a set of slots to another 5 (in this case) shortcut slots? If space is the problem, just give more without taking any. Give players options, make the game more interesting. If they can't fit the skills on the screen, make a toggle, large screen tablets are sure to fit up to ten skills.

Really want to see AE succeed. I played their games since 2004-5, though I stopped a few years after ago because of university, AE's been like a part of my childhood.

The way Artix and Cysero explained it to me, they're planning to make up for it by making class type dependent on "synergy." They said it sort like if a mage-based class and warrior-based class were to attack the same monster and user certain skills together, special effects will happen (As if the two of you would start coordinating skill uses for different effects). That was the basis of what they told me, so I think this idea is still very premature and they have yet to put it in effect. But who knows, stuff always changes. I'm at least hoping they change to do combos; like, for example, using some skills in a certain pattern (like Skill: [Auto-atk],2,2,4,3) and then after it is complete you basically do another skill or something. A lot of people have been suggesting to do combos or skill trees but AE seems very reluctant (and i do say korin has a lot of monsters to animate and on his livestreams he'll redo class animations like 4 times per skill sooo RIP M8.... jk but yeah they would at least need another animator or 2 to comfortably do 8+ skills.) As far as the complaints of skills go, they put a lot of faith into synergy but it has yet to really show what it really is capable of. But we gotta wait till it is added in the game :P

Btw like wolfofdoom said you could probably fit at least 6 skills on their with out any problems, so I think they're kinda takin the easy route if they don't have big plans for combos, trees, or synergy.

Please note that most mobile games have an auto-attack and 3 skills, not four. Four is definitely a stretch.

This can easily be reprimanded by initiating the suggested combo system, where using one skill changes the skills to something else, etc, so you could fit a total of 20 skills in four slots if it goes first skill > second skill > refresh or even more skills for each "row" of skills before the reset.

For example:

- Slash, Pierce, Jump, Dodge

Slash > Punch, Arrow, Rage, Rocket

Reset.

-OR-

Slash > Punch, Arrow, Rage, Rocket

Rocket > Halo, Sunbeam, Rally, Chokehold

Rally > Rock Out, Spring, Avalanche, Huddle

Etc, etc....

Reset.

I'm also ok with 4 skills. It's just that some people might get turned off by it.

Maybe there could be an item slot like in AQW where you could alternatively fit in a psuedo-skill? o: Sort of similar to the effects of certain scrolls and potions.

i don't have a problem with how to make four skills satisfying.

i just don't believe AE has the resources to make "synergy" after everything they've been complaining about not being able to do this that etc.

it won't work in the long run guys.

you're trying too hard to make us call this game a definite success.. it won't work in the long run...

When did I say it will be?I'm hoping it will be,this is why I asked that question in the title.See?But honestly we don't know all their plans. And how do you know it won't work in the long run?You are making a lot of assumptions. Not that I don't make a lot of assumptions as well but meh do not make me call it a definite failure either.

I don't have any problems with 4 skills system. The only problem I have is that the game plays way too similar to AQW.(which is quite a huge turn off for me)

It didn't work for HS, so what makes you think it will work for AQ3D? Maybe if there's somehow sufficient deviation from AQW's gameplay...

Then again AQ3D is still in its early stages. So we don't know if it is gonna end up as AQW3D or not.
