It would help if you clarified your suggestion a bit more dfo99.
How would this improve the gameplay? What would this change for the current gameplay?
Would there be limitations? Certain costs to it?

just don't be allowed use 2 equal cores for obvious reasons.

Here is something you missed. Does this apply to all weapons? Meaning weapons that already have locked cores (Can be both passive and active) on them.

Cause no offense but the suggestion itself is extremely vague even with the image to be honest.

^ This suggestion might make such weapons (who have locked useless passive and active cores) useful again.
But then here is the thing, this suggestion would only benefit such weapons (who already have cores, useless or useful ones), since totally coreless weapons won't benefit from it, for a simple reason, there aren't enough available cores in-game, and most of them are kinda useless. For instance, active cores for sidearm or auxilliary, there is only 1 active core available in-shop, therefore taking a totally coreless sidearm or aux, will put you in disadvantage against someone who is using a sidearm/aux with a locked useful core.
Although I think it will contribute to variety, so, supported! but before implementing it, more cores should be added to the shops, especially active ones.

Certain combinations like Critical Heal + Eternal Protection and Tranquility + Generator seem OP, how do you plan to address this? I can even have Tranquility + Generator + Critical Heal + Eternal Protection with this suggestion.

^ I think armors shouldn't have this feature, as some combinations are pretty op (using both eternal cores, etc...).

Interesting. I suppose having two mutually exclusive active cores could work. For example, frost shards+meteor shower. One option for draining energy, and the other for increased damage. When I say mutually exclusive, I mean, when you use one, the other one gets disabled too and cannot be used again.

In principle, would that make pvp slightly more enjoyable and strategic? Perhaps, although it causes a lot of problems with balance, and also it may be complex to code, which would be a waste of time. I think that there is a myriad of other suggestions that the devs ought to consider before this one, however.

It would be very interesting to see what synergies play out from this but that is a double edged sword. As SSM and Machaar have pointed out armors would very quickly become broken but that isn't the main issue in my eyes. I am worried about the UI as EpicDuel has been locked into this grid UI with two full rows of skills. Do we add a third row of skills? Do we keep it at two rows and let you have a max of four cores on an item but at the cost of not having cores on other items*?

*Example being not having an active on a coreless aux to pick up a second active on your primary or dropping the robot out of your build all together to grab two extra cores

it is really a surprise for me you all talking about it as if this is a new and vague suggestion, i remember this one being frequently suggested months ago during the wars due the slot requirement for use the war commander core. the devs probably had refused implement it, but i just wanted to know for what reasons.

It was literally only suggested for cores that had no in-battle value, so it's entirely different from what is being suggested now.

The main reason why I don't like this is that it requires people to spend a lot more credits to make certain builds and sets optimized, which is a huge problem that existed during enhancements. Enhancements were really terrible because they required a ludicrous amount of credits or varium just to stay on par with other people. I promote the idea of players being able to freely experiment with whatever builds they want, limit huge things like changing classes. Therefore I don't want to really support this unless something is done about the cost of buildmaking in general.

WHoa but why is this a bad idea guys? I mean think about it? Sure the idea was introduced poorly but what if instead of eacha dn every weapon receiving an extra slot we just focused on weapons with locked slots?

Armors such as frost reaper, delta knight, or weapons like frost bane, azraels will receive an extra slot for the slot that is occupied. I think it will be safe to say that the majority of the weapons with locked cores are not only annoying in the sense that we're limited in creation/ideas but some are also useless (look at the omega weapons, the weapon with cahrfades core (to fight some dragon) and the weapons with the cores that do extra damage against NPCS like goerge lowe and chairman).

The way this is proposed is a bad idea, but the idea is not so bad.

So let me repost this idea for you below in a way people might accept it...

The proposition is to allow wepaons with locked core slots to be able to have an extra core slot. First, let me clarify some things. Cores take A LONG TIME to make, and also require a ton of effort. We won't be seeing any new ones soon so please don't just say that it will be simpler to just create new cores.

Now that that's out of the way, lets go over the facts. First, art: There are a few weapons in the game that players would love to use because of how awesome they look/appear to be, or even because of their rarity and uniqueness such as the weapons that grant an extra damage bonus against George lowe, or against chairman. There's also the weapon with the locked core that has charfades face on it. Secondly, the cores themselves: There are weapons in this game where the weapon is awesome but the core really restricts and discourages build variety such as Azraels, frost reaper, even omega weapons. WIth that being said the suggestion is that you allow a feature that lets us put a third core on special weapons. Every weapon used to be completely different but that turned out to be massively unfair so Omega came along and made every weapon the same and gave us cores because they were supposed to increase build diversity. Well that did exactly the opposite. Now there are a ton of weapons out there that, without cores, are all the same.

Now I wouldn't make this if we had a ton of cores to choose from but we don't and I understand that cores take a long time to code, I have heard that from several artists.

With that being said I am suggesting a 3rd Core slot. If we can't get new cores because the programming takes to long then allow us to have a 3rd core slot for special weapons with locked cores. For example: Black Abyss P, Black Abyss E, Azrael Gun and Aux, Celtic Cleaver, Blood Hawk Slayer P, Blood Hawk Slayer E, ESPECIALLY Omega weapons...etc

Now I know how this looks, believe me. You might say that Varium players will get too much of an advantage but that's impossible. These weapons are seasonal and everyone gets a chance to buy them with credits which means everyone can tack on a 3rd core.

The capabilities and benefits of this feature are endless.... potential Masteries on all Weapons with the Aim Assists, Overshield with Nanosteel armor for the special Armors like Platinums Pride. Once again, a third core slot should only be available to special weapons since they have a locked core slot on them.

P.S its not 2 weeks yet so im not bumping. According to the previous post I still have 3 hours until 2 weeks. Thanks!
