It has just occurred to me that they completely broke fame when they took if off the character pages. If you wanted to, you could make 50 accounts and fame yourself, while you couldn't do that before without going to the extremes. And you know, that some of the players that are still sticking around have the dedication to do that. And yes, I know that there is a level limit before you can fame someone.

People abused the old fame system too, they could just change there IP and get infinite amounts of fame.

It was way easier to cheat fame when the button was on the character pages. The barrier to do so now isn't ironclad, but you still have to expend effort and time to create an account and level up whereas before it could be done almost instantaneously and with alarming frequency on the character page.
