Rarity scores should reflect how many unique, rare items you have. Removing duplicate scores last year was good. However, the varium factor (0.7 of the varium spent on buying the item is directly converted to rarity points) is still there and I don't think that's fair at all. Like duplicates, it defeats the purpose of the leaderboard because we can't actually see who has more rare items.

Spending varium already has an advantage in rarity score since there are a decent number of varium-only rare items and varium is required to increase bank slots. These pay-to-win aspects are already reasonable in my opinion. There's no need to make varium spent literally count for rarity points.

I think I might be first place on the leaderboard if the varium factor was removed, or at least much, much closer than I currently am. A side by side comparison of the inventories of the top 6 on the leaderboard shows very clearly that in terms of actual rare items in possession, I have the most or the second most, and that the varium factor has made the leaderboard very inaccurately reflect the number of rare items a player actually has. For perspective, I have never bought or upgraded a single rare weapon with varium unless it was sold for a varium price only or if it was a past promo pre-Omega.

On another note, I think the points for different types of rarity could be revised. Items that are both Seasonal and Limited should have both a "Seasonal" and "Limited" tag instead of just "Limited" and should be worth 1650 points. Same with items that are both Rare and Limited. Also, I think Rare and Ultra-Rares should have their multiplier increased by 1 (1650 increased to 2200 and 2200 increased to 2750, respectively, maybe even 3300 for Ultra-Rares) because they are legitimately a lot more rare/exclusive than the other categories and I don't like the fact that Legendary and Rare items are currently worth the same amount considering Legendary items can be bought cheaply in the legendary shops whenever you feel like it.

Another thing is that skill cores should count for rarity. I don't know why they don't already but they don't.

Everything in life is for profit, like your health insurance, school, etc.

I’m sure the developers have this in place since they want you to spend money in the game, since the player has declined over the years and still need to find ways to make revenue.

I mean I would if I were a developer but at the same time I wouldn’t rip somebody off since I wouldn’t want a lawsuit against me and I’m considerate in others.

But I can agree with you they should make it fair, and I suggest maybe perhaps add a leaderboard for non varium rarity. This would benefit those who don’t want to spend in the game.

There's a time when it's appropriate to ask for players for money and times when it's not. Like I said, it's okay with me that there are varium-only rare weapons and it's obligatory to spend varium to increase inventory and bank slots in order to increase rarity score. Having these pay to win aspects actually make sense and they actually do a good job at getting people to spend. But making varium literally count for rarity points makes the system lose its meaning so in my opinion, that's definitely where we need to draw the line between needing to get players to spend and maintaining the integrity of the rarity score feature.

I don't think a single person has ever deliberately bought rare items with varium rather than credits for the sole purpose of the boosted rarity score. People who buy or upgrade items with varium more or less only ever do it because they are broke on credits, not for boosted rarity. The boosted rarity score is really just a weird, extraneous thing and it does a piss poor job at being a legitimate incentive for people to spend if they don't have to. Really, I doubt think a single person has ever done it because it simply doesn't make sense, even for the richest (in terms of real world money) of players.

I completely agree with you and I was hoping you'd say that. I honestly don't think spending money in this game isn't a good investment, to my point of view, since all weapons are the same literally. I often buy rares the lowest amount of credits if possible by removing stats and damage, especially since I still have a plenty amount of credits from the gifting events. Weapons should be scored based on rarity on an equal basis. What I mean by this is everyone should have the equal privledge of others and be given a chance since the rarity leaderboards are basically in favor of those who have varium rares.

Like I said, a temproary solution could be to add two seperate leaderboards, one for just Varium rares, and one for just Credits rares, but be given the same achievement.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for the game if they added a Credit option for those who wish to grow their slot banks and inventory.
