Foot waves are the "standard" method of getting waves in any war, but almost all wars so far have other alternate wave formats, such as supply run/rescue, or catapults. From prior experience, I'd say that the two alternatives mentioned above are much faster than foot waves. Supply run/rescue depends on you being able to one-shot the mob at the end for maximum efficiency (I've personally been able to comfortably manage 2 wpm with that during the last war), but some classes (like Doomknight) can achieve similar speeds with foot waves. On the other hand, catapults can go much faster as long as you know where the mob hitboxes are, since it doesn't rely on you having a good class/gear. Personally, I can manage 5 wpm with catapults, so just about anyone can achieve that as well. TL;DR: Speed-wise, foot waves < supply run/rescue << catapults. Foot wave and supply run/rescue speeds depend on your gear, while catapult speeds are independent of your gear/build. Edit: You probably already know this, but classes with strong nuke/multi skills that have fast animations are preferred if speed is what you're looking for. Edit 2: In case you were asking about how to manage the tedium in grinding war waves, having a good playlist or shows/videos to listen/watch while warring does wonders.
