I know these badges aren't yet available to get, but I hope to achieve these badges once implemented. The most waves I've ever defeated in a single war is 866, so 1,000 doesn't sound too hard, but 5,000 and 10,000 are crazy high!

In the last Frostval War I played as a Riftwalker and averaged between 30 and 45 seconds per wave depending on how many of those high-hp enemies there were. Assuming the same time for the next war, it would take an average of ~50 total hours for 5000, and ~100 total hours for 10,000; and that's purely the time going from "To Battle" on one wave and back to the main war screen.

Does anyone with a much higher wave count have any tips to manage defeating so many waves in one war?

Foot waves are the "standard" method of getting waves in any war, but almost all wars so far have other alternate wave formats, such as supply run/rescue, or catapults.

From prior experience, I'd say that the two alternatives mentioned above are much faster than foot waves. Supply run/rescue depends on you being able to one-shot the mob at the end for maximum efficiency (I've personally been able to comfortably manage 2 wpm with that during the last war), but some classes (like Doomknight) can achieve similar speeds with foot waves.

On the other hand, catapults can go much faster as long as you know where the mob hitboxes are, since it doesn't rely on you having a good class/gear. Personally, I can manage 5 wpm with catapults, so just about anyone can achieve that as well.

TL;DR: Speed-wise, foot waves < supply run/rescue << catapults. Foot wave and supply run/rescue speeds depend on your gear, while catapult speeds are independent of your gear/build.

Edit: You probably already know this, but classes with strong nuke/multi skills that have fast animations are preferred if speed is what you're looking for.

Edit 2: In case you were asking about how to manage the tedium in grinding war waves, having a good playlist or shows/videos to listen/watch while warring does wonders.

What would be some of the classes that are good for nuking/multi-skills/fast animations?

Off the top of my head, Doomknight, Riftwalker, Rage DragonLord are the faster ones I can think of (though I don't use Riftwalker much so I'm not in a position to comment). Lots of people also found in the recent war that Chaosweaver is amazing for wars, with its superb burst damage, multi-hit stun and fast animations. I hear Evolved PumpkinLord is a pretty good warring class as well, but again, I can't really comment on something I haven't used much in wars.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, just saying. It's just what I can think of off the top of my head right now.

Dread Pirate is a pretty strong warring class because of its 260% multi skill. If you don't have an armor closet, though, you can use Ninja's massive strike, it's one of the fastest and strongest warring skills. If you own them, ChaosWeaver and DoomKnight are quite powerful as Alpha Centipede said. If you have a Dragon with 200 points, inviting your dragon as a pet (guest for more damage) with 200 points invested in Magic is also a good idea to clear multis if your preferred class has a slow or weak multi (like Ninja).

Make sure to also grab the Uragiri or Verraad from the Inn at the Edge of Time's AARGH challenge, that helps a lot with warring. Also, choose any offensive gear you can acquire from this Best in Slot guide made by Discord User Mooselim.
