now i know why many people are upsetting over this 15 top. whoever doesn't like to p2w so much, or have a limit budge with their money. there is reason i do not spent on any package or custom face. It would be nice to see if we donated the "GOAL" like 15 million ZTk donate then we get full set.

i dont remember one from christmas or more than before that we have donate to grab that goal we got free misc, pet and shield. but weapon is not free whoever got 50th top.

I think it should be to fair for us to have those cool stuff.... instead of waste our money because of due this Covid-19.

P.S. i would like to hear your feedback, why, and explain.
thank you

Yeh community goals could be fun.

Fosters a sense of togetherness and whatnot.

And then also have a contest where the best gear in the set is up for grabs like Nilaks.

'Community' goal would only really involve whales - the folks who don't buy faces/champions/etc rarely have the tokens to spare for something they will get anyways.

Contests like the current one, on the other hand, are much more all-encompassing, as anyone who just fights a battle a day has a chance to gain tokens, maybe even donate them back.

The current system allows the majority of active players to get a ton of tokens while a minority amount of players donate enough in exchange for exclusive items.

Other systems wouldn't reach something 15M tokens donated and that sort of token event would just devolve into a waiting game that someone else donates enough so that all get all the items.

Unfortunately, you grossly overestimate the goodwill of the "whales".

We have seen community goals work before (Nilak's Donation Drive comes to mind). However, that was a winter donation contest (hence gold and Z-token donations), had a subrace as the top reward, and included rewards for the top donators. While whales do support the game massively, they also need to get something out of it. It's not purely charity, even if it mostly is considering the sheer amount they give. Community goals could work, but they must be accompanied with other incentives or are sufficiently special, as a subrace would make most of us far more willing to donate more. Otherwise, we get a form of the free-rider problem, which sobodobo mentioned.

If we were discussing whether more of the top donators should get rewards, I would give a firmer affirmative. The rewards for this contest are more exclusive than those in past contests, and I cannot recall a reason why. We had just made war rewards more accessible, so it confounds me that the donation contest rewards would go in the opposite direction.

I agree on the exclusivity issue of the the rewards this time. I got top 25 last time and top 15 this time but I can honestly say I wouldn't try again next year at top 15. I was going to give up this year but you know, sunk costs.

However, I don't think these items are pay to win. If you want P2W you would be better off taking the token and buying golden gift boxes to get bloodzerker and bloodmage. I don't think the staff would put anything meta defining behind something literally only 15 people have access to.

It seems people are confusing the winter gold/z/token contests with the summer drive donation event (though the shield and item z-token donate amount was increased ), as you can see with these images below.

There was even a discussion in this thread about the top 15.

The summer drives top 15 been around for a while and the staff didn't lower it from top 25. However, I suppose it could be changed to the latter for future events so the minimum z-token amount for the top 15 doesn't need (nearly) 3/4 of a million just to win.

If proposing anything to the staff, the community should ask them if they are willing to offer more prizes like they did for the winter contests last year where any gold/z-token donations would give you the Fenrir pet and the Balmung weapon, respectively.

Yes i do understand about your feedback. so far we donated over 21 millions. whoever donated so much as they can. 20 to 15 are too hot to donate to get 15 top. congrat to Sky.

my opinion is i think they should feedback about contest. honestly i would love to see if they change their mind to too soft and donate us to get full set. if we hit the goal.

Ah. Sorry for spreading misinformation, then. The donation contest was so much more intense this time that I thought it was partly due to fewer seats for the top reward. I should really check the facts before I post instead of relying on my memory. I knew that the shield and misc donation amount was increased and conflated that with the top donation places. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks Shirou!

Regarding the idea of community goals, it's a nice concept but I would wager that I don't think it would work out as well as you hoped. I can't speak for the other top 15 but I'd wager that if we were going for an arbitrary community goal then few of them would've gone as hard as they did this time, I certainly know I wouldn't have. Many people would simply donate what they needed to get "credit" for the event and then hope that enough people did to hit the top goals. The reason so many tokens were donated this time was because of competition. The top donaters were competing with one another which drove more donations.

In a purely community-goal based drive, those same players wouldn't have that incentive to keep donating. And if you did some kind of "hybrid" drive with a leaderboard AND community goals, the question becomes, why are the community goals set up in the first place? At that point that's just giving a ton of people extra free stuff.

I will agree that I wish the $200 dollar package had an option other than custom face requests both to keep the number of requests down for staff and to give people who don't have any current custom face wants an option.

I agree with both pints. I certainly would not have donated anything other than the bare minimum if I could. And I want another option for $200 mainly because many commonly used armors in this game (sub-race, bloodmage) don't even show the face.

You're welcome, @FlySkyHigh

Oh i like your idea about "$200 package had an option other than custom face" i would love to see if they decide to add custom armor, weapon, shield with our idea draw or any.

@thehollow i want to your feedback and why, explain about this. if it is not worth, you can close this thread.

As someone who reached the top 15 this event, I can say that if it was a community event, I wouldn’t have donated anywhere near what I donated in the contest. You’d be surprised how lazy people will get when the work gets spread thin. The incentive will drop because of the “why should I donate any more than anyone else” mentality in a community event. In a competition, however, where the rewards are exclusive, people won’t stop donating. It got to the point where I had already donated so many z tokens that I may as well go all the way to get there. But while those in the top 15 competed, a lot of people benefited from it by the sheer amount of tokens donated. I got about 17k tokens just from donations, which is a lot for f2p. I think the current system is fine as it is, it’s a win win for those competing, and those getting free tokens. That being said, I won’t compete next time lol. Top 15 is TOO competitive.
