As of march 2021, where can I get them?

As we still don't have a war yet, the only way to get Defender's Medals are the Proclamation waves from Swordhaven and Doomwood, doing Togs in the Endless Invasion and try your luck to get them in Bandit Ruins. The best way to get Defender's Medals without a war is doing the Proclamation waves from Swordhaven as it gives you a 20% chance of getting a Defender's Medal and that most of the mooks don't have a lot of XP.

Defender's Medals are found in:

1. Wars (seasonal, temporary events)
2. The Bandit Bounty job in Bk3 Falconreach
3. The Endless Invasion/Togpocalypse challenge at the Inn at the Edge of Time
4. The Greenguard Alliance wars.

All options except the first are available all-year, with the Endless Invasion/Togpocalypse challenge reliably rewarding DMs every five togs you defeat and the others providing DMs via random drops.
