Lorekeeper
And Pun-isher

The story has been focused on finishing incomplete stories and loose threads since my addition to the team, making references to the characters of those stories inevitable. This is because of, and in order to solve, the very reason why organizing the story content in-game is problematic at the moment. As is public knowledge, he team kept shrinking before central story organization could be implemented, and several stories were left hanging without their writers. Unfortunately, those stories were: - Concurrent. - Interconnected without having common chronological points of reference. - World altering in scope. That alone made arranging them in a timeline implausible, but the fact that more story content necessarily had to come out while this was the case made it impossible instead. The amount of contradictions in these stories, ranging from conflicting lore about the state of the West (Tackled by Dragonlorn Keep) and the back-and-forth retcons about Erebus (Tackled by War Between Shadows & Season of Consequences) did the same to the lore itself. This is why I've been focusing on wrapping up loose ends and finishing these stories -- So that we can have a breaking point from which the story can be organized better. Once the Season of Consequences is complete, we'll have dealt with all unfinished main storylines and be able to make a future project out of an in-game content guide. In the mean time, here's a rough summary of how to catch up if exclusively focusing on the innermost story: quote:
Story Catch-Up Summary (As of September 3, 2022) It helps to think of a few sagas as core story while individual quests and other sagas build on the world around it. To retread the primary story before the current generation of content, you'll want to play the Devourer Saga (Yulgar's Inn), Bizarre Flecks (Main map), Hall of Memories (Darkovia - Dracopyre Legacy). That will provide 90% of the context referenced by recent content, with Dragonspine's Dragon King and The Destroyer sagas helping as well. Other content will fill in the world for you, though there will be some early installment weirdness from periodic writer changes. No Man's Land stands out as important post-Devourer world building, with a character arc that is still relevant. For modern content: My writing begins as of Harvest 2018. As of that point, while most seasonal content remains comedic or lighthearted, I've shifted gears somewhat. The main story progresses in the summer events and smaller series, while the seasonal quests reflect how the world is changing. The current leg of the main story begins with Burning Solstice (Yulgar's Inn - go right -> Sage Uldor). The Frostgale set MC quest (Warlic's Mastercraft set quests) follows it as an intermission. Then there's Dragonlorn Keep (Warlic's quests) and its corresponding MC set quest, followed by War Between Shadows (Also Warlic's quests). The Lost Talon MC set (Also Warlic's MC quests) provides some helpful lore. The Chessmaster Saga (Main map) and Entropy (The late part of Darkovia - Dracopyre Legacy - Hall of Memories) are also part of the main story, but are out of sync due to being unfinished for some time. The Season of Consequences (Chessmaster Saga & Hall of Memories hubs) is in progress to address that: The Chessmaster saga is now complete, and the Entropy finale is in progress.
