As someone who checked back in to AQ after a long time away (as is the case w/ many here, I'm sure), I'm finding it hard to 1) get caught up on the updates that have occurred over the past few years and 2) revisit the old stories I'd played through 10-15 yrs. ago. For example, trying to recall what happened during the Carnax Saga (my very first war, all the back in 2005), I'm having to Look at the (not recently updated) encyclopedia entry for the whole AQ story universe Read through the encyclopedia entry for the Carnax Saga itself, realizing that many of the quests are rare & can no longer be experienced Play through what bits I can still access, which are found all over the place. Some in the Time Scrolls, some at Stonerule, some at Mount Thrall And that's just one summer's event in the history of the 20-yr.-old game! Even as someone who went through it the first time around, I'm having a hard time piecing everything back together. I can't imagine that a new player could possibly make sense of it. This is true for a lot of AQ content, which is a darn shame b/c there's so much content representing the love & labor of so many writers & developers over the years, much of which is not easily accessible. What I'd love to see is old quest lines being brought back in full so a new or returning player can enjoy the experience holistically, and for the content to be organized and made comprehensible. There's some precedent to this in the Devourer Saga, but the Devourer Saga itself is neither the beginning nor end of AQ's lore. As a mid-2005 player, for example, I never got to experience the Undead War or Dragon Wars (except via tidbits in the Time Scrolls), or the Drakonnan War, all of which make important contributions to the story. Having to pick through encyclopedia entries to make sense of things is really suboptimal; wouldn't it be great if we could relive the events in-game instead, legacy server style?
