The Ancient Abyss Epilogue & Book 3 Reimagined!
Hey there, heroes!

Congratulations on completing the Ancient Abyss war! With the ancient temple of the depths secured from Kathool's influence, there's just one last thing to do...

Also this week, the Book 3 quest "My Spot" has been reimagined!

Complete the Ancient Abyss Epilogue to obtain a new weapon reward, created by True Mortal!

The dialogue in "My Spot" has been adjusted, and an extra mini-scene has been added to show the travel across the sea. Skip buttons have been added, along with a cosmetic weapon reward.

Tournament of Champions part 1/2, and Timelines still need some finishing touches. They're still in the works for when Dove has time to revisit them.

You can access the Ancient Abyss Epilogue from the Ancient Abyss war in the Book of Lore, and you can play the reimagined "My Spot" from Kara in Sulen'Eska.

Ah so at last Remthalas' remains have finally been laid to rest, returned to the sea as he should be, and utterly free of Kathool's corruption.

Judging by Notha's summarization of Remthalas' character I'd say she did truly have a genuine respect for him as they were working together. I dare say she might have seen him as a true equal as another person that was defying "fate" as she was and perhaps thought he was one of the few that could truly understand her at least for a time.

It would seem Myalos is still pondering a lot about being a hero. Possibly still trying reconcile what little they can remember about their fight against the Shadowscythe


Also Aquella's little aquatic friend holding her trident was adorable, that is all.

I must say, Notha holding her breath out of fear of breathing in Remthalas gave me a chuckle.

It's cool it to think that this may be the start of a greater reclamation of the Depths from Kathool. Something to look forward to perhaps?

Also, I forgot to talk about this before, but I like how Myalos has been contemplating their new role since we explored their dreams in the Reawakening war. It seems they were kind of projecting their war-trauma on the little worm-bait, not to mention dwelling on what Aquella said to them. I'm sure fighting an ancient eldritch enemy with no guarantee of victory is something they're very familiar with; "If not me and my people, then who will?" They seem to be interrogating ideas of sacrifice, duty and heroism in their own quiet way and I quite like the way it's portrayed subtly. Myalos is an interesting character as well as a living piece of Mechquest lore and I look forward to seeing them develop.

Some sensible changes: mentioning Falwynn, and focusing more on the meeting on Jaania rather than bringing up Elryn and Espina Rosa. I thought it was particularly clever having Danyel warn Kara about staying in Tkaanie; it serves as an explanation of why she can't just wist us away to Azaveyr again after the Gala, due to the risk of being targeted by the Magisterium. Ludonarrative successfully maintained!
