Since this is a common question for the Gallery Q&A, here are the rules regarding avatar submissions. *** Submit to Seahawk *** Public Avatars New Avatar Information Physical Regulations: -Max limits: 95 pixels x 95 pixels. This is the preferred size, as well as the maximum size. -Max size: 10kb -No animation is allowed in avatars -Files must be saved as a .gif, .jpeg, or .jpg Submission Preferences: -There is no required limit to be submitted at one time in a single PM, but please do not send me more than 15 avatars attached to a single PM. -It is most useful if you attach the actual avatar to the PM for review purpose, and then also include a link to the location the avatar is hosted at, for downloading purpose. However, only one of the above ways is required for the avatars to be reviewed. Avatar Naming Preferences: When submitting avatars, it saves us a lot of trouble if you name them with the following in mind. -The file name should be what is in the image. If it is a picture of Artix from AQ, put “ArtixAQ.jpg “ or “Artix.jpg”. If it is a monster, or pet, put the monster or pet name, etc, etc. Please make sure you spell the names correctly. -Please do not put random numbers or letters after the name (ie – Artixdj39dh.jpg). We will assign numbers or designators to the avatar name if there is more than one avatar with the current name. This simply makes it easier to replace avatars in the future with new ones without a lot of work with renaming. It also helps sorting. Acceptable Avatar Tips: Below are a few tips for members to follow to best insure that your avatar will be uploaded. 1) Images that are grainy, blurry, pixelated, or have rough edges along the edges of the included images will not be uploaded. 2) Images that are composed of art directly cut-out from the game will not be uploaded. 3) Pre-created game-art images should be customized uniquely. If pre-created game art is used, the image must be touched up and customized for it to be used. Personally created art based on AE will be considered differently. 4) Some easy and commonly used touch-ups to include with avatars include: - High-Res touch ups - Light flares and reflections - Unique borders and trims on the avatar edge - Unique or personally created backgrounds - Colour contrasts and appropriate colour matching between art and backgrounds - Stylized text that is easy to read, coloured appropriate, applicable, and not hindering to the avatar - Trimming or edging images inside the avatar itself (zoom blurs, hard edges/double edges) - “Bubbling” images to stand them out from the background (impression of third dimension aspect). **Remember that these are just some of the common used touch-ups, and don’t replace new and unique aspects or highly creative art!** 5) The following are often submitted as customized, but are not sufficiently customized. a - Putting game art cut-outs on a plain colour background, or a different game background. b - Putting multiple game art cut-outs together in one avatar c - Scaling art without further customizations d - Adding words (descriptor, title, or speech) to cut-outs or to other aspects of Tip 5, without further customization. PM your avatars to Seahawk. Keep in mind that all avatars must be Adventure Quest or DragonFable related and fit the max avatar size of 95x95 and 10kb. *Taken from the Gallery Q&A Rules. Just follow those rules and you will be fine :). ~Beo
