forum rep and badges

reputation and badges for forums would make it fun and people wuld be more active

I honestly don't see how this could make a positive impact to the forums. My reasons are:

1) If post counts counted towards rep, the amount of spam would skyrocket to unbeknownst levels that are hard to control. Spam is already a hastle, and in some cases difficult to slow down.
2) It would just add more work for forumites to have to go to a shop, buy a badge/ "power-up" as they have on other forums.
3) Forumites would then go crazy to do anything for rep, by possibly making multiple accounts to improve the rep of one account.

This would only make the forums become an anarchy, and most forums I've seen with such a thing become obsolete.

If you do want a "reputation" you can always work towards a title which is given to those who follow rules. You can find various titles, and instructions on who they are given to here.

I don't like the idea. People would be more active, but for wrong reasons.
Titles are good enough already.
