Has anyone looked at it lately? Cause it's huge! Not even the AQ Encyclopedia is as big as it, and it's existed much longer than MQ. And it's becoming harder and more tedious to look through it to find the specific piece of equipment you want to look over. Plus, I found that some mecha chasis entries don't have links to their specific equipment, and since the encyclopedia is so big, it's hard to check for these kinds of things.

Something should be done about this.

...How?

They're always trying to improve the pedia. But saying an Encyclopedia is too large is like saying a free (and non-lie) cake is too extravagant. You can't have too much.

That being said, I'd prefer some sort of SC/NG/Rare distinction.

No, I mean there's 100+ pages. It's a bit hard to sift through. I mean, if it's left alone, it could, maybe, reach 1000 pages one day. Maybe.

I like things to be complete, but I think the forum staff should maybe try something to organize it better. Like making subforums for the encyclopedia for letters.

You have to remember that for each mech there is upto 6 pieces of equipment. This creates 6 extra weapons posts per mech per level version. So if you have 10 levels of a mech you get 60 posts.

Now this could be streamlined in a couple of ways here are some thoughts:

1. Make the Mech's default equipment a post in the specific mechs thread. For instance you would post all of the weapons for WarBear DLX in the WarBear DLX thread. this would streamline the search process tremendously and help cut back on the amount of posts too.

2. Make the weapons post level-able. Basically you would post one weapon in one post then in that same thread you would post the next level of that weapon. This could also help to streamline the Encyclopedia a bit.

Yes there are ways to make it more streamlined, the only problem is that you have to make the changes for all of the posts. Which would take a Tremendous amount of time on the AK/Mod part.

Yeah, it is kind of depressing looking through the encyclopaedia, due to its sheer size. Maybe it would be more easy to navigate through if it were Alphabetised or sorted by Type of Item (Front Arms, Back Arms etc.).

It would take ages to go through the pedia and make lists sorting the entries into type and such (like an AQ pedia style). I fear we are stuck with how the pedia is and is going unless we want to ask our AKs to overwork themselves. If someone just has an empty week and they feel like going through and arrange the pedia into a list (like the AQ style) then they can do that themselves. I feel like it would be a lot to ask for an AK to go through and do it themselves.

You should try looking through the Indexes at the top of each page. They contain all of the items contained in that section, sorted by level.

Apparition: Not really. I can't remember what item, but I tried browsing for one of the default equipment of a mecha once. I couldn't find it myself browsing through the pages, so I tried sifting through the index instead, but without any luck.

Then you should ask whoever has that Index to update it. And if they no longer wish to do that, then ask for permission to remake it.

It's also very possible the item entry wasn't created. Try as we might, some entries won't always get completed - especially the rare ones.

This isn't a problem with most Encyclopedias - MQ is the most troublesome. The releases are huge, and every mech has so much default equipment that I can't even keep count. It can't be helped - some items are going to be missed and entries will not be made, or the index owners will miss items occasionally.

If you find an item without an entry, try making it if you can, and sending a PM to the index owner of that section. That will guarantee that the encyclopedia will be as complete as possible. :)

Yeah the Mecha equipment part of the Pedia is HUGE and I hadn't noticed it until I saw this thread. XD

Anyways, if you have any ideas keep posting them. I would really love to hear your ideas on how to improve the Pedia. I mean while we(MQ Pedia AKs) keep it in check, the Pedia is for YOU guys and other players. If you're having trouble with how the MQ Pedia works then don't hesitate to tell us.

Yea, I've been having some issues with it, too.

I'm a non-SC, so I can't get most of the weapons out there. Unfortunately, because of the different naming system, i.e. DiffuZion 30/Diffusion 50 in other games, I have to deal with flipping through page after page of item, just to find something at my level and status.

I try to search for a certain type of weapon, say, stunning, or damage boosting, and I have a hard time doing so, too. While guides are made for this purpose, sometimes they just aren't detailed enough.

It would be great if items, if it's not redundant to say so (13SC... [SC]), would have some marking on them which makes them distinct from the other versions. Like just a little star, for SC, or perhaps a brief acronym description of it's specials and level?
Stunning and Attack Boosting Head Weapon, Level 31 (HD31, Sb+Ab)
Star Captain-Only Mecha with Dodging and Energy Disruption, Level 20 (*MCH20, Db+En)
Nova Gem Pick A Special Back Arm, Level 10 (NG-BA10, An/Dfn/Dn)
etc.

Code:
* = SC
NG = Nova Gem
A = Attack (Bonus)
D = Def
E = Energy Sapping
HP = HP recovering
MCH = Mecha
Xn = Nerf
Xb = Bonus
+ = All of
/ = One of
etc.

Primal Werewolf (NG-MCH16, Ab+An)
This is only based on the body weapons abilities, to help customization.

So when I go to search it, I can use the letters I want to get the piece I want.

The only problem is the sheer number of articles to rename like this...

EDIT: Thought of a better way to narrow it down.

You guys should email the mc encyclopedia builders and say something about it.

Also, if there is not an entry, you can post in the Incomplete Posts thread. It is a Very big encyclopedia but when the index fails, it helps that the entries are in alphabetical order. At least then you can judge which page the entry you're looking for is likely to be found.
