I turned mage for the sole reason of reroute and because they were some what op at the time. But it required skill to be powerful! Now its all cookie cutter simple builds 5 focus, str spam, support spam, ect. I think that mages are honestly the hardest to play class, even with heal loop it was still hard! And if I click 1v1 I almost always see some sort of either tanking or spamming build! And as soon as i see a merc I can almost always assume that its going to be short battle that ends in me losing and almost those long dragged out battles that required strategy.

I think mages need a buff.

What is your guys opinion?

Or TAKE AWAY AGILITY!

Well atomic, being a mage does require alot of strategy because we don't are buff like bh or mercs, anyways I don't use support or spamming builds neither 5 focus I like to find challenge in my fights and sometimes my fights last more than 40 rounds :/ but I win we need improve skills as assimilation and we need to have a buff. I really support this.

I have been a Mage since the begging, sure I've switched around a little to try the others out but I always come back to the mage. Now I know they are bad I have been using my fully equipped with varium Mage for some time and I am known to be a average player with a 6k-2k win/lost but Lately I can easily be beaten by Non-Variums. I fell that the devs should buff the tech mage. People will say "Oh no they are VERY Powerful and Don't need a buff!!!" Well unfortunately the truth is. Your just bad :/ Change your class to a mage for a day and just try it. You'll realize that we are not OP, you are just bad... Mages need a buff and We need to give out ideas (Realistically) so that the devs can help us mages.

My suggest would be to either get rid of Agility
-Or-
Buff ALL of the cast spells because lets be honest. If you a mage and your varium lvl 33. You are not going buy a staff to use Overload/Plasma Bolt.

We need a Buff and We want it soon

I have recovered. You can too. Try a dex 5 focus build with a staff, or make a 140hp build and try to heal at least 3 times. These have worked for me, but they are tricky to perfect (the 140 hp is at least). Ive also started playing passively: use your shields to reduce damage.

I have tried many many builds but none of them give me equal or greater power to a Merc/BH

Mages can recover but we need more builds ideas to be open.

Constructive!

I don't see a need for a buff, they are just slow and most of their builds take strategy to win.
Considering that I and other Mages can average a 96% with 200+ battles seems like they are a pretty good class.

Yeah, mages aren't really a competition to other classes and their op builds. An small boost on their skills should really come handy. Best of luck to any techmage there, i do know what it is to lose endlessly.

Recover from what? Every time a new fad build comes about in the mercs and bhs, it takes maybe an hour tops to find the weaknesses and restrategize to crush that build too. You just need to know how to play a mage. I have a knack for it over bh and merc. I've tried other classes for the sake of trying but I'm always a mage. Yeah it'd be great if a couple of our skills didn't require enormous amounts of energy just to get a decent hit. You just adapt to that or around it. The heal looping crap though, I never could tolerate that. Avoided that build like the plague.

Mages already have recovered, even before the new diminishing, I almost got beat by a mage (blocked him a few times due to luck) and I was using a very overpowered 5 focus BH build

I do miss the high hp (not ALL high hp builds r necessarily heal loop ones, only class jumping "mages" think so) because high hp was very fun as it creates a whole new variety of unique builds (but then again everyone copied xedran down to his EXACT skill points..... so it got boring)

I would love to see a caster buff and maybe we could lower the cool down on heal again, that would be nice

Every one thought that heal loop was op, but it required skill!

heal looping was overpowered, it made skilled players unbeatable and unskilled players more power than they deserve but I do believe with enhancements and monstrous stats, other builds like 5 focus will be in par with heal looping builds

so definitely decrease heal cooldown! and casting would be really fun too if it wasn't so horrible...

Don't Think we are good. There are very few who can destroy anyone as a mage. Some will say it over the forum because they like to be cocky but truth is there no better then any other mage. And regarding high ratios. It's just NPCing...

Mages are still the weakest class in ED. The only way i actually stand a chance against most Strength noobs, is because i actually have to use strategy and not just dump everything into one stat.

^Yeah lol, musta been embarrassing when I beat you as a TM 3 times when you were "using strategy and not dump everything into one stat". Once when you were LiveLoveLaugh, twice when you were Helloguy.

thats if you have varium you get 96 with luck as well. I know when I was use varium account kept fighting the same type of players. I would hit 92 to 94 daily. But for non varium mage I would hit 75 to 85 daily. But we do need loop back that was are defence against strength merc and bounty.

heal loop will be easily beaten by a good 5 focus BH.

From what I've seen in 2v2 on my Tech Mage account (not my Bounty Hunter, he hardly ever battles in 2v2), Tech Mages have yet to fully recover. True, they've been making a comeback (usually in the form of Support or Strength Builds). But the entire Class is, well, messed up. Why? Well, I can think of a few reasons:

-No Physical Staves
-Completely messed up Skill Tree
-"Slow at killing"

As long as Tech Mages are hindered by these problems, they will never make a full recovery.
